Comparing Movies and Novels

General content of the story: A murder (a wealthy American businessman was killed) occurred while the Orient Express was traveling. The detective on the express train dissects the truth of the murder step by step through the confessions of the 12 passengers in the carriage and their luggage items, which is reminiscent of a kidnapping case in the United States (a total of five people were killed in the husband, pregnant wife, daughter, and maid) , and the mastermind of the kidnapping case is this rich American businessman. At the same time, 12 passengers were in the kidnapping case: godmother, mother, sister, brother-in-law, godson, comrade-in-arms, secretary, servant, driver, father of maid, policeman who had a crush on maid, and nurse of daughter. So the murder case turned into a case of revenge...
Different from the novel:
1. In the novel, the 12 passengers were questioned and investigated separately twice, while the second investigation in the film is that everyone sits together and the detective A pair of 12 passengers were identified.
2. The novel does not describe the ending, and the movie ends with the murder of a wealthy American businessman by the Mafia. This also fully compounded the audience's tastes ~ justice will always win.

I watched the movie after reading the novel. First of all, I would like to thank the director for not adapting the novel substantially, but restoring 95% of the novel. For the remaining 5%, I think the director added his own opinions to the movie after reading the original book. For example, the woman in red pajamas is not specified in the novel, but the Countess is given a shot in the movie; the result is not told to the readers in the novel, but in the movie, in order to meet the public's taste, the detective motioned to turn everyone around. Go to the first idea and make everyone think it's the mafia. Perhaps there are some things in the novel that do not indicate that the main purpose is to let readers have reverie. For example, when I didn't know who the murderers were, I always thought that there was really a person in a service suit hiding in that old American lady's house. When the old lady found someone, she pretended to open the door and asked the old lady.
Comparing Movies and Novels:
Novels are superior to movies in terms of imagination. Through the reading of the text, the novel can be read for a while, and at the same time, it is reminiscent of some scenes in the novel, creating infinite possibilities. And the movie doesn't stop at all, you have to follow the director's line of thinking and watch what he plays next instead of thinking about it yourself. On the contrary, the movie is an imagination of the novel, it is the imagination of the director.
In terms of character recognition, movies are better than novels. Because this novel involves the cultures of many countries and the names of foreigners, it is quite difficult for a person who does not pay much attention to foreign cultures to get acquainted with everyone, and the movie also uses actors to let you know every character. .
Overall the story is bizarre but not the kind of deviant story. It is understandable that everyone has agreed to deal with this murderer. All in all, it reminds me of a saying in the detective world, if everything is impossible, the rest is true, even if it is impossible. When you have eliminated the impossibles, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.

Although it is a classic adaptation, the rhythm is too slow, Poirot is too crazy, can the scissors be more agile?

The dubbing is good, but without the complexity of the original multi-language mix, the Polo here is a neurotic and paranoid mustache who actually yells at the lady, which is not comparable to the elegant Polo in the new version. It suits me very well. In order to make Poirot choose the first answer, his anger towards the murderer is foreshadowed before the film, but I always feel that this kind of value is not very good, and the new version gives people more through Poirot's inner conflict and struggle. Think and ponder.
