"April Three Weeks Two Days"

When I first read it, I thought it was a student work similar to a death thesis, because at the beginning, it was shot in a dimly lit student dormitory with a very shaky handheld shot. After reading it, I realized that it was a shooting technique that deliberately created such a dark atmosphere. This gloomy feeling pervades the entire film. It's really not suitable for viewing in this cold weather.
The film tells the story of what happened in the short day of the master man-accompanying a friend to have an abortion. April, three weeks and two days are also the life time of the fetus. At the beginning of the film, Otilia helped her friend Gabita to prepare for an abortion, and received things to book a hotel appointment with a doctor. Because the Romanian background law at the time did not allow abortion, everything was carried out in secret. However, the doctor introduced by a friend was a rogue and suspected that Qian Shao asked Otilia to use her body to collect. Otilia had a relationship with her for her friend, and Gabita had the surgery. Otilia took care of her and took the dropped fetus out of the hotel and threw it into a rubbish chute in a residential building.
The story starts slowly and ends abruptly. I didn't react for a while, but after reading some movie reviews from netizens, I gradually understood. I also learned a little bit about the Romanian social background at that time. In fact, aside from the technical aspects of these lens movements, my first impression after watching it is indeed that if the highest friendship between men and brothers is a knife, then the highest friendship between female friends is like this.
The plot is simple, but the mood is extremely gloomy. Unlike other emotional movies that make you cry, it presents the reality to the audience in the most realistic way. The long shot follows the back of the protagonist: walking in the dark dormitory corridor, washing the stained body in the bathroom, panicking and confused looking for a suitable place to discard the fetus. There is also a fixed scene of having dinner and chatting with his parents and friends at the boyfriend's house. The scene lasts for nearly 10 minutes, and the actors perform in one go. In 10 minutes, I listen to irrelevant people chatting about home and education, chatting and chatting, pretending to be calm on the outside. Those who participated in the birthday celebration were anxious and worried about the physical condition of their friends in the hotel. All these emotions follow these shots with her. In addition, there are many voice-over scenes, and the two people's dialogue routinely shows who is talking about the camera and who is over the shoulder. Then here, the two people's dialogue shots are always facing one person, but there are two in the three-person dialogue screen, and one of them is always talking outside the screen. When I saw it, I was amazed that this method made me more emotional. It seems that the person outside the painting is my own perspective, and I feel anxious, helpless, painful, and depressed along with the characters inside.
