This is my first time writing a movie review and I just wanted to comment logically. After Charles appeared, he has always emphasized that John is the same type of person as him. In addition to his meaning that they also have the special ability to channel, I understand that he also saw John's past, from his questioning John in the film , did his daughter think life was beautiful when he died? Here it is also seen that Charles thinks they are connected and both are for sick people to die without pain, so he thinks John can understand what he did and will continue to do it . So Charles drew John out to kill him, because he couldn't take the pressure and the pressure, but he believed that John would continue to do it for him. In fact, John's daughter was very scared before she knew her father was going to euthanize her, and in the last scene, even if John tried his best to cover his daughter's eyes with his hands, his daughter still couldn't rest. So I think one of the ideas conveyed by this film is that no one can decide the life and death of others. There is indeed something fatalistic in it, but if it is more esoteric, I can't see it.
