redemption of the cross

The night before watching "Spiritual Detective", I lost sleep, and I suddenly thought of an uncle who lived in our alley as a child and
was sent to the hospital one day with a brain haemorrhage. After he came back, he became hemiplegia. Every day sitting at the mouth of the alley listening to the radio, telling people what the weather is like today, or exercising in the alley with a cane and dragging an unintuitive leg, his world has become a distance of an alley. Days went on and on. One day at noon, the door of their house was locked. No matter how the family knocked on the door, there was no response. Finally, when they could not break into the door, they found that the uncle had drunk pesticide and hanged again. The person who went in said that after drinking pesticide. Toxic attacks are very painful, there are traces of struggling against the wall, and the death is ugly and dignified. He committed suicide. Suddenly, without any foreknowledge. Everyone is guessing that he doesn't want to drag his family down because of his illness, and he does endure the pain every day, and it's too boring to live without any hope, so he might as well just walk away.

After watching the movie, one question kept haunting me, was the serial killer doing something wrong.
He "helps" the lives of people who are suffering or are about to face doom to come to an abrupt end without knowing it, so that they no longer suffer from the physical pain of living in their hearts. He uses his ability to predict the future to "act as a chivalrous person". Is there any problem? Even if there is no so-called absolute right and wrong, the actions of serial killers have made me re-examine my three views. Every life is worthy of respect, but if any pain happens to me or my family and friends, I know that we will end up dying. I will die under the torment of illness, what will I choose? Should we let them go in peace, or would we rather let them struggle with torture and time?

The English name of the movie is Solace, which translates to comfort. The movie suddenly changed from a suspense movie to a healing system.

In the film, crosses are often used in quick edits, John's daughter's innocence when she was six years old and her struggle when she was sick. In ancient Rome, the cross was a form of execution for the death penalty, and the object of punishment was extreme criminals. In Western literature, the cross is generally used as a metaphor for suffering. In today's society ruled by law, the cross has become a form of belief and strength for believers. Faith in God will remove suffering and misfortune from people in this world. There is no absolute between good and evil, and if it is evil that a serial killer ends their lives without their original consent, then his goodness is to help those people get free. For John, the most painful thing is that he has foreseen his daughter's unfortunate future and witnessed his daughter's cruel and unbearable pain. So in the end these scenes all turned into his pain, nostalgia for his daughter, guilt and powerlessness. At the end of the film, he injected euthanasia to his daughter who was crying on the hospital bed, so that her daughter could be relieved of the pain of the disease and go to heaven quietly. By letting her daughter be redeemed, she also redeemed her past self. The uncle in the small alley is no longer living like a year, but he is late, and he is also redeeming himself

. So, do you know how to choose?

What to do, it's already reached the point where you just look at Uncle Huo's face and think it's Hannibal, no matter who the character is. . .

A mixture of heroines like Nicole, Theron and Jennifer Lawrence

Solace quotes

  • Charles Ambrose: I don't enjoy the work I do, John. It's not a fetish. It's about allowing those who are already dying... to die with some dignity. Sometimes the greatest acts of love are the hardest acts to commit.

  • Charles Ambrose: I have no interest in playing God. As far as his work is concerned, I'm not impressed.
