What exists between the real and the void. Whether it is the director's shot or the serialization of the photographer Thomas's pictures, they are nothing but nothingness after the real. The same goes for the deconstructed Kantian aesthetic in the commentary—in nature, nothing is natural. We only have what we call nature. It's a cultural identity. The real will become fleeting, and what is left, after falling into nothingness, we can't explain it at all. The gun in the film that implied the existence of the truth no longer exists after the fact. Meaning, it happens only after the fact. We try to add meaning to them to clarify what they stand for.
What do you think of the male domination spread in the film? "Women are symbols" is magnified in "Zoom". There are so many women in the film, but they are just symbols that "don't need names" in Thomas' eyes. Their existence is extremely ignored. When we can't bear to see Thomas' ignorance, indifference, and madness, a sense of "should be criticized" enters our minds. But what can we think of? What can you do, woman?
After the noise, there will be peace immediately. The flamboyance of anarchism is an important visual annotation in the film. With the wind blowing through the treetops, there is a strong existential vibe. The sense of the times is reflected in a collective atmosphere. I think that any era is a degenerate era after all, and religious beliefs and political beliefs will go away with the wind when the industry starts, dissipate and disappear.
A very philosophical film, or the tone of alienation. There is always a long distance, and I don't know what the other party is thinking.
What we do all our lives, we try to add a statement to what happens in our lives. This is life, many people think.
