Ties and tears

"If you want to bond with others, you risk tears"

I saw this movie the other day that I've always wanted to see. The book "The Little Prince" is one of my five favorite literature books, and it is also one of the few books that I have read 10+ times (mainly because of its short length, haha). For such movies based on the original book, I was a little worried and expected too much before watching. After watching it, I was not disappointed. The content outside of the book is also very good, especially the scene where the little girl is crying beside the grandfather's bed... I can't help but meditate on the bonds/fetters between people.

The bonds/fetters between people must be created in addition to the innate relationship, but whether it is family or other bonds, it needs to be cultivated and cared for to be profound. And no matter what kind of tie, even if you just want to create a tie, you have to bear the risk of tears.

After moving to a new place, I gradually interacted with the landlord's two children. In fact, I am quite familiar with the two brothers and sisters. After all, I have known each other for 6+ years, and DD is still a student in my Sunday school class, but the previous interaction was in the church. I had a chance today to teach DD two math problems (rarely I still remember some...). During DD study, I like to break, especially when my mother is not at home? Talk to me while I am cooking or eating, ask me some questions, and we also play some games. The first time I played chess was with DD. When I pray at night, I have an idea: I want to take some time to interact with them more (play board games, watch movies, read books, etc.), and be their blessings (of course, they will also be my blessings) . When they parted in the future, if any of them shed tears because of this, it would be as precious as a pearl to me... Of course, I didn't do it for this reason :/

God really treated me with kindness and gave me some precious ties, even when I didn't know Him (but I really realized its preciousness after I believed in Jesus). After graduating from elementary school, I went to a boarding school out of town and went home once every three weeks. When I came back, my brother was always looking forward to it. Every time I leave, they will send me. Sometimes he would have liked me to get in the car early the next morning, so that I could stay at home for an extra night. And if I leave the next morning, even in winter, my brother will always get up early to see me off, and even get up earlier to prepare breakfast, in order to let me sleep a little longer... (Of course, he is not always so kind to me. , slapstick is common ;). Sometimes he would go home crying after taking me in the car...and that's what he told me later...it's a bond with my brother. Such deep ties will only have a few in a lifetime. After believing in the Lord, I have many ties in the Lord, but there are still very few deep ties. Rarely, there are times when parting is accompanied by tears. In a society where everyone is self-centred, how many people can weep because of your parting or because they want to leave you? Even if the relationship gradually faded later, and some even became indifferent to their beliefs, the ties at the beginning were always sincere.

When I haven’t believed in the Lord, I always get stuck at a point when I think about ties. The fox was sad when the little prince was about to leave. The little prince rebuked the fox and said:

"It's your fault. I didn't want to give you any pain, but you asked me to tame you..." "That's it," said the fox. "You're going to cry!" said the little prince. "Of course," said the fox. "Then you get nothing." "I got it because of the color of the wheat," said the fox.

Can feel what the fox said 'she still got the benefit', but is it really the benefit? Does it not hurt every time I see wheat? And this painful time is very long. Perceptually, I vaguely understand, but because of my experience, I can reluctantly accept it if I don’t understand it rationally. It was not until I came to know Jesus and the love of God that I truly understood: "Now there are three things that abide now: faith, hope, and love; and the greatest of them is love." Because love endures, it lasts until Eternal, so the fox still gets the good, and those temporary light pains make love more real/solid. Love is eternal because God is eternal and God is love (but love is not God). God is love.

"If you want to create bonds with other people, you have to take the risk of tears." It turns out that this bond is love. A lot of dots/dots are connected together. The experience seems to be more three-dimensional and comprehensive. CS Lewis said in "Four Loves" To love, at all, is to be vulnerable. (Love means exposing yourself to harm or to love means being vulnerable).

"As long as you love, you are in danger of being hurt, and when you love something, your heart hurts and can be broken. To make sure your heart is intact, you don't love anyone, not even pets. … The only place outside of heaven that is completely free from the dangers and troubles of love is hell. … We do not approach God by trying to avoid the pain inherent in love itself, but by putting aside all self-defense, accepting these pains, and giving them away To God, come near to God."

The same is true of what her father taught Corrie in "The Chamber of Secrets ":

"You know what makes you sad like this? It's love. Love is the most powerful force in the world. When love is thwarted and there is no way out, it hurts. When this happens, we can Do two things. We can kill love and our hearts won't hurt anymore. But then a part of us dies with it. Or, Corrie, we can ask God to open up for us A new way out is to let our love have an outlet. Her father's words made Ke Li understand: what she has to learn is to give up her attachment to Kalai, but she doesn't have to give up all the joys and satisfactions that come from love. When she quietly As she lay on the bed, she whispered an unusual prayer: "Lord, I dedicate my love for Kalai to You, and all the dreams I once had for our future are in Your hands— Oh, you know my heart! I will give everything to you! Please let me see Kalai with your eyes, let me love him with your love, and love him as much as you love him. "

1 John 4:16-19 :

In this way, we have come to know and believe in God's love for us. God is love; and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. From this, love is made perfect in us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment, for as Christ is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; on the contrary, perfect love removes fear, because fear carries punishment; and the one who fears is not perfected in love. We love because he loved us first.

Love suffers long and is kind. Being able to endure love & being able to love without fear of hurt is a great blessing. God bless <3

    The Businessman: What? Stop?

Mr. Prince: I-I'm not a failure.

    The Businessman: [questioned] Oh?

Mr. Prince: ...I'm The Little Prince.

The Businessman: [surprised] What?... He thinks he's little! And a prince!

[he and his associates laugh; mocks]

    [to one of his men]

The Businessman: What are you? A duck?

[the Businessman and his associates continue laughing hard]

    The Businessman: [darkly] He's hopeless.

    Mr. Prince: ...I'm not hopeless.

[the Businessman continues laughing with his associates, and Mr. Prince then smiles]

[the Businessman and his men laughed hard]

Mr. Prince: And she loves me, and she's waiting for me! So... I don't think I wanna work for you anymore.

[the Businessman and his men ignored and still laughed]

    Mr. Prince: And um...

[Mr. Prince removes his card from his shirt]

    Mr. Prince: ... I quit.

[the Businessman and his associates stop laughing, causing The Little Girl to laugh]

    Mr. Prince: [laughs] I quit!

[steps on his business card, while The Little Girl then steps on The Conceited Man's foot, freeing her, and the stuffed Fox steps on another man's foot gently, before the three start escaping]

  • The Businessman: [after using one of the stars as example for powering his planet] There, you see? The inessential has become perfectly essential.

    [to the Little Girl, angry]

The Businessman: How it should be for all things.

[ordering The Conceited Man and pointing to the classroom]

The Businessman: Take her back to the classroom. Make sure no one interferes.

[the Conceited Man grabs The Little Girl's arm as he was about to get her to the classroom, as the latter was trying to break free of The Conceited Man's grip]

The Little Girl: No! Let me go, I can't...

The Conceited Man: [to the Little Girl] Stop!

The Little Girl: Don't let them do this to me!

The Conceited Man: [to the Little Girl] I said stop!

Mr. Prince: [to the Businessman] ... Wait.

The Businessman: [to Mr. Prince] Wait? I've given you 371 jobs, and you have been fired from 370 of them. I think it's time you go back to work, my little failure.
