ever so close to happiness

I used to be so close to happiness, but my heart full of guilt and self-blame would not be happy even with the person I love.
I can't tell if Jane's choice is the right one. I always hope that there will be a fairy tale ending like a lover's family, but now I don't know which choice will be happier.
My favorite scene is when Jane is fleeing, Tom is waiting for her at the door as soon as she looks up, the sun prints them gold. "Regret?" The answer was an affectionate kiss. In the future, Jane will spend her whole life to miss those beautiful and short days.
At the end of the film, Jane writes in her novel
"She began now to comprehend
that he was exactly the man who,
in disposition and talents,

would most suit her.

His understanding and temper,
though unlike her own,

would have answered all her wishes.

It was an union that must have been
to the advantage of both.

By her ease and liveliness,

his mind might have been softened,
his manners improved,

and from his judgment,
information and knowledge of the world,

she must have received benefit
of greater importance.

But no such happy marriage
could now teach the admiring multitude

what connubial felicity really was
. Not a pity either.

Li Bihua once commented on Eileen Chang: She is good at writing about the moon, but she is not perfect. Anne Hathaway may not be my Jane Austen candidate, but we're not looking at Anne or Jane, we're looking at who we were then through them. James McAvoy used one word to express the love of his life and named his eldest daughter: Jane. This word alone brought tears to my eyes.

1.Nothing can destroy spirit, as poverty. 2.Could I really have this? What, precisely? You. Me, how? This life with you. 3.What value will there be in life if we are not together? 4. Some loves that don't end in marriage make people understand that there is more love than marriage can bring.

    Jane Austen: It was ironic.

Jane Austen: I was describing what you'd be thinking.
