In 1920, less than 30 years after the technology of film was invented, because the art world was tired of realism, expressionism was perfectly presented for the first time in film. The set is fantastic and fresh, and the two symmetrical high chairs of the police station have an absurd feel. The key is to be very storytelling. The story I've seen is this: a man who, because of his admiration for a hypnotized sleepwalker's account of murder, could experiment, take a sleepwalker on tour, murder a few people, and get caught At the same time, he escaped punishment because he caught an unfortunate top pot, and was finally locked in a mental hospital.
