is a heart-moving movie that moved me and was more heart-wrenching. Publishing my first film review may not be called a film review, but it is just an afterthought. The following content is purely miscellaneous, if there are any similarities, we are very honored!
A father who lost his wife retires to finally realize the joy of being with his family, caring for each other and loving each other.
For that weekend family reunion, Frank went to the supermarket to buy good wine and a state-of-the-art broiler, so that he could grill outdoors with the kids like before. However, the children have their own careers and are busy with work, so they can't rush home to have dinner with their father on the weekends. So disappointed Frank disregarded the doctor's advice (not to take public transport, not suitable for long-distance travel) and insisted on going to see his children one by one, giving them a surprise. The elderly Frank insisted that he packed his bags and came to New York without seeing his son David. In fact, David had died of a drug overdose in Mexico, and his daughter Amy had hidden the truth from Frank without knowing the situation. In this way, Frank left New York with anxiety and helplessness to visit his daughter Amy in Chicago. At his daughter's house, Frank found that his grandson was not as outstanding and outstanding as his daughter's description on the phone, but rather rude. Frank felt that his children were not as comprehensive as they were with their mothers when they talked about life with him, and chats with him were often short-lived and only about the good.
After visiting Robert and Roise and talking face-to-face with the children, Frank gradually realizes how incompetent a father he had been and how little he had ever known his children. Due to his busy work, he neglected the growth of the children, and he always strictly required the children to develop according to their own ideas. And when he came to his senses, the children had really grown up.
The music in the whole film is soothing and long, like a patient grandmother telling us the story behind the music, creating an atmosphere that I yearn for. Maybe only someone like me who likes quiet can be so patient to enjoy such a dull movie plot.
The background music accompanies the slow-moving plot of the movie, just like sipping a pot of fragrant tea in the afternoon sun or the sweetness of the spring pouring down in the morning. Several American country music interspersed in the movie, pure and clean, the clean voice of the lead singer without any impurities, let me indulge in it, which also shows the other side of Americans - the rare soothing behind the fast pace of life .
The only laugh in the film should be when Frank is sitting in front of David's house, a prostitute asks: "Would you like to see my thighs?" The funny Frank replies: "DON'T YOU WANNA SEE MINE?" For a moment, I burst out laughing. However, after a long wait, David did not come back.
The scene that makes me most angry is that when Frank was walking through the train station, he met a bad boy, and the rogue was lying on the ground. Frank gave the bad boy a few dollars with kindness, but he never thought that the bad boy wanted to rob the bad boy for his revenge. Frank's purse fell to the ground in the process of tearing Frank's pills. When the bad boy saw this, he smashed the pills with his feet. Instantly the tablet turned into a powder. However, in desperation, Frank could only pick up the powder and put it in his pocket.
On the way home from his daughter Roise's house, Frank's old illness relapsed. In a "nightmare" Frank came to the hospital. The children came back from all directions to see their father, and only then did they learn about his father's true condition.
With thoughts of his son David, Frank came to the gallery downstairs in the apartment where David once lived in New York after he was discharged from the hospital. But I was disappointed to learn that my son's painting in the window display was sold out. And the beautiful lady boss found a David's work for Frank in the warehouse. This is a work covered with three telephone poles. These cables correspond to Frank's masterpiece on the train in which he asked the passenger to guess himself before the film. It was because of his long-term exposure to PVC that he suffered from severe lung disease. In an instant, Frank understood his son's love for him.
At the end of the film, the whole family gathered again for Christmas, and then the pure music played "For so long, I was out the cold. And I taught myself to believe every story...."
In fact, fathers all over the world are the same , even if he has a straight face, even if he is silent, but what cannot be ignored is that his love for us will always burn like a fire in their hearts and warm our faces.
