I have read it many times, and I read it again today, and the feeling seems to be more profound, because I am also a mother when I watch it again. The reason the film wants to express is very simple. After children leave home, they always report good news to their parents instead of bad news. Parents’ expectations for their children are not fame and fortune, but only hope that they will be happy. The love is there, but it is difficult for the two generations to express to each other truly and clearly. Robert De Niro's introverted and deep interpretation, the script is meticulous and tender, and the mood after watching the movie: down-to-earth, complete and moving.
