I stumbled across this film after watching the latest Jane Eyre and fell in love with Rochester in it. Thanks Jane Eyre for letting me know Uncle Fassband. Thank you uncle for letting me see this movie. This is truly the best coming-of-age movie I've ever seen, bar none. A lot of people compare this film to An Education, a coming-of-age made by the British in the same year, and most people think it's better. I very much agree. The story of An Education is still under the soft-light mirror, holding it, beautiful, pushing the little girl in front of the camera, playing the kind of little reserved who is actually ignorant but self-righteous, and the pan into the eyes, and finally Silently swallowed tears.
