Life has taken on such absurd, tedious appearances that it is hopeless. "Despair is the 'deadly disease'." In such a passive, misanthropic state of mind, Abe Lucas was saved by a righteous murder. It is said that he was saved because he discovered the beauty of life, and the reason why he discovered the beauty of life was because he did this so-called righteous thing. One by one. He is full of knowledge and familiar with all theories and arguments, but such a knowledgeable person has become an unreasonable person from the moment he planned the second murder. It is only when you discover the beauty of life that you will lose, even your own life, which points to a strong survival instinct. Same absurdity, how is the absurdity presented here different from the absurdity he experienced before the murder? Maybe he's more hands-on, more involved than his friend's death. A strong sense of participation led to his excitement, but also to his destruction.
Perhaps without a scapegoat, we could all keep silent about his first murder, more or less acknowledging its plausibility. This reversal is not so unexpected, and it is a plausible but crucial change in people's choices.
