If it was suggested by other film critics, this is a fictional story of Fat Man (let's call him Fat Man, forgot his name), Fat Man is a layman, and 1900 is a legend
But is it possible that this film is a suspense film?
Most friends who love suspense and thrillers should notice that another movie played by Fat Man is Fatal ID, a classic suspense film with a split personality, in which Fat Man plays the schizophrenic main character, his eyes blinking. And when Fatty was talking to 1900, his eyes kept blinking.
First of all, I don't think this should be a true story, I mean, there are three possibilities:
1. This is a fictional story of Fat Man representing Fat Man's obsession with something
2. This is a fat man's dream, meaning the same as above
3. This is also my guess, the personality is split, the fat man is the main character, and 1900 is the hidden personality of the fat man who is extremely obsessed with something.
Why do I think this is not a true story? First of all, there are a lot of unlikely bugs in the film. For example, 1900 and Fat Man were sitting on the piano and shaking during the storm, but they didn't fall down. It doesn't make sense. And at the end of the film, 1900 stayed on the boat for so long and didn't starve to death. I think this just shows that 1900 is not real.
Let's put this aside for now, but why does only Fatty know about a legendary figure like 1900? 1900 accompanied so many people through so many boats, it is impossible that no one remembers him, right? Of course, these evidences can only barely show that 1900 is a fictional character created by Fat Man. Some people may say that this is a movie, but it is not real. But I don't think most directors and screenwriters are trying to make things as real as possible? But I feel that these bugs of the screenwriter were left on purpose.
This story seems to be (during World War I? Didn't learn history) Fatty became a soldier. In the movie of Rejuvenation, the protagonist got on the boat, and their boat was attacked.
There is a piece of evidence that Blink is still important. Has anyone noticed that Fat Man and Tim Russ are much different in stature, but when Fat Man gave his coat to 1900, 1900 said that the clothes fit well. This may be the skinny clothes, this may just be a coincidence, I forgot whether the fat man wore that clothes, but most people see that the clothes are so skinny, they should not bring them to the ship where they want to work.
In the end, an explosion killed the personality of 1900, and the fat man gave up his obsession with the ship and music and started life.
