I remember watching this movie on Valentine's Day.
I really don't want to make a fuss there, and write "a Valentine's Day alone" or "Valentine's Day without a lover" hypocritically. For me, I never feel that Valentine's Day is anything special, so I don't feel overwhelmed. It doesn't matter, it's an ordinary day anyway.
So I sorted out my computer and found a bunch of movies that I downloaded but never watched, and I randomly picked a "Kiss of True Love". I had forgotten the introduction I had seen before, and I had no idea about this movie, so I took it to see it.
Surprisingly, this seems like a good movie for Valentine's Day, at least I think so.
This movie is like a fairy tale. Fresh fairy tales, a touch of tenderness, a touch of touching, not too depressing, just the style I like.
The girl Penelope was cursed and had a pig nose and ears since she was a child. Her parents hid her for fear of her being hurt. This curse must be broken by the kiss of the noble who truly loves her. So her mother arranged for her various noble youths, blind dates, and signed nondisclosure agreements. Then the youths rushed out of the window one by one like seeing monsters...
Max, a gambler immersed in casinos, was hired to pretend to be a candidate to take a photo of Penelope. But in the communication through the mirror, he changed his attitude towards life.
Then there is the process of mutual affection, discovery of secrets, and contradictions.
Max blamed himself, regretting that he couldn't unravel Penelope's curse. Penelope escaped from home, met his friends, and boldly released his photos to the world. People follow her, but mostly in good faith.
Then there was a wedding, and the bride fled.
Penelope said aloud to my mother that I like who I am now, and then, in a flash, the curse was lifted, and a beautiful girl appeared.
Then, at the Halloween party, the masked Penelope found Max, and the two who recognized each other kissed affectionately, and then lived happily together.
Watching this movie, fell in love with a song that the male lead sang at the beginning, You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy, when skies are gray...
There is a soothing version of this song, which I prefer instead The lively version with experience. So, paste it.
Maybe think about it, this storyline is somewhat old-fashioned, but it doesn't matter. I like.
True love doesn't care what the other person looks like. Have a kind heart, be confident in yourself, don't change yourself for wrong decisions, everyone will find their true love. Perhaps, true love is waiting for you somewhere, waiting for the moment.
This story is like a modern fairy tale, using a girl's pig nose to expose all possible hypocrisy, and then let a seemingly humble and degenerate person discover the brilliance in his heart.
The ending of the fairy tale is naturally that the curse is lifted, and the people who love each other are happy together.
The seemingly naive, simple and unrealistic story, but because of the shooting techniques, lighting, and scenery of the whole film, it has a feeling that reality and fairy tale overlap.
I have to say, I was attracted by the acting of the male lead in this film.
Every move, with a ruffian, but also with nature, he looks at the mirror affectionately, or sings, or plays chess, such a bland thing, the charm naturally exudes.
I remember the first time I watched "Kiss of True Love" on Valentine's Day, and suddenly I had the concept of "Valentine's Day today". Although I don't feel much about this festival, this is a festival for people who love each other. A pair of people who love each other will always hug each other happily on this day and be happy for their festival.
In fact, love is really beautiful. Just like in the movie, it doesn't have to be strong, it doesn't have to be tortuous, and it's fine. When you have someone you love, your heart is warm. Whether this love is the love of love, the love of family, or the love of friends.
Those who have love are warm in the heart~~
PS I like the protagonist James McAvoy (James McAvoy) in the play, I like the movie, he looks decadent at the beginning, his blue eyes, the corners of his mouth are raised, and his gentle and sincere smile~~~ and him hair curtain ^_^
