The protagonists of The Chaser are two of the most famous actors in the Korean film industry: Kim Yoon-seok and Ha Jung-woo. In a word, the two are powerful factions who do not rely on acting skills to sell each other. In the country of Bangzi, which is full of handsome men with plastic surgery, Smecta, who is older and looks almost negligible, really lives by acting. But in fact, Ha Jung Woo is much more handsome. But among the pursuers, his portrayal of the most brutal perverted ogre in Korean history is nothing short of nauseating. Such a look that slackens one by one, wandering between a normal person and a psychopath, is simply admirable. As for Jin Yunshi, the evolution is not to mention, Hua Ying has seen his acting skills before watching a child who was swallowed by a monster. And he played the role of a pimp who resigned because he couldn't bear to see the darkness of corruption within the police system. There is a very dramatic conflict in his character. He was a pimp when dealing with guests; but when dealing with perverted guests, he became a policeman. To survive, he used his identity as a policeman to deter those who bullied the young lady: to seek clues to the murderer, he also used his identity as a policeman to follow his plans. What is shown on him is the image of a small urban person who was oppressed and shattered by reality.
Now let's talk about the uniqueness of the chaser. Seven deadly sins, dog bites dog, Memories of Murder, and many other crime films, the usual method is to focus on the process of detection, put the criminal at the end, and focus on the heinous crime of the criminal. The pursuers had already figured out who was the perverted ogre who had killed more than 20 young ladies not long after the start. The next step is to talk about how idiots the police are. They released the murderer because there was no evidence, and the result was a tragedy. In this process, the film is more about how incompetent the personnel of the Korean public security system are. The strong irony of South Korea's political situation and public security law has outweighed the emphasis on the crime of murderers.
But kill for life, karma. The heinous criminal is finally brought down by the only persistent pursuer. As a result, the city that has been immersed in the rainy night and darkness finally tore out a little light. Too much emphasis on the role of the individual will only create two results: perverts and heroes.
