What are the recommended highlights of "Going Forward"?

I followed this movie because of the "Forest Fire in Muli County, Sichuan".

I wonder what a forest fire really looks like? What kind of hardships did those firefighters endure?

We all know that combustion needs to meet three conditions at the same time: air, heat, and fuel. If any of these are missing, the fire will vanish. That's what firefighters do every day!

At the beginning of the movie, there is a scene that simulates a forest fire, in order to prevent it from being engulfed by the fire. The team members must immediately put on the fire cover. The instructor said: "The sound of the forest fire, like 100 trains passing overhead, also roaring like a hurricane, the temperature can reach more than 500 degrees. It feels like the end of the world."

It turned out to be such a torment, and I want to pay tribute to those firefighters who died. They are the heroes of the country and the pride of the motherland.

In fact, forest fires are very dangerous and difficult to put out.

The film introduces 2 occupational methods for fighting forest fires, "fire line" and "fighting fire with fire".

"Fighting fire with fire" means that before the fire arrives, it burns out an open space so that no combustibles remain, and the flame naturally cannot spread. This provides you with shelter.

One drawback to this approach is that winds can pick up speed, potentially sending the situation out of control if the fire arrives early. This is also the focus of debate between the examiner and captain Eric.

During the vanguard assessment process, the assessor with 40 years of fire fighting experience asked Captain Eric to build a fire line, but Eric was stubborn and wanted to use the method of "fighting fire with fire".

In the end, when 19 firefighters were swallowed by the fire, it was really terrifying. Although they have mastered professional survival skills, they still cannot escape the predicament, what a pity!

This film reflects the life and work of ordinary firefighters. There is no routine or too much sensationalism, but it really shocked the audience. They are the greatest people.
