First give a general comment: not to mention inferior to Japanese animation films such as Hayao Miyazaki's works and others, nor inferior to Frozen and Zootopia. In my movie viewing history in recent years, this one is even inferior to "The Return of the Great Sage" and "The Great Protector".
Actually, I want to give two stars, but I'm soft-hearted... Anyway, I don't recommend going to the cinema to watch it. You can watch it on TV after the cinema goes offline. The laughter in the cinema is still one after another, but I didn't laugh once. Although it is labeled as comedy, the comedy effect is far less than that of tomatoes. It is also only a passing score on IMDB.
I love animated movies very much, but this one really doesn't make me like it. It is difficult for any work to be suitable for all ages. This one is obviously more inclined to the younger ones. Whether it's a simple and empty plot, exaggerated action, or a plot that is too volatile and emotional transitions that are too intense and blunt, it's a bit too hard for an hour-and-a-half movie.
In the final climax of the film, the two camps faced off through music. I have to say that there were too many reversals, and I was really tired of panic. Anyone who has studied composition a little knows that when using music, there is a very important rule "there are no more than three things". Whether it is repetition, comparison or Canon, you must stop and go back after the second and a half times. And finally, no, the soundtrack and emmm selection of the whole film are really not precise enough. As an animated film that often needs to use music to strongly assist in promoting the plot (and finally use music to showdown), the music in the film is really impossible to make I am satisfied.
I don't know if there will be a sequel to Elf Hotel, but it seems that all the main plots have ended. Humans and monsters are completely reconciled. After that, I am afraid that there will be a sequel forcibly added to the show. But if there is, please change the soundtrack.
