Fluorescence in the quilt

I like the movie.
He reminds me of my childhood days when I was under the covers with a flashlight and surreptitiously reading comics.
Sometimes I don’t feel like I need a dazzling, warm sun.
Only a little bit of light at night can make people cherish more.

Large generators run through the city. The wires run through the city. Every thing is telling human civilization to be exiled away from the forbidden land of light.
Human beings are so dependent on the thin and light industrial civilization they have created...

Will 200 years be too long?
It's enough to make humans forget what they've lost
but can't get them used to the absence of

phototaxis...
like a moth
seeking the truth

City of Ember quotes

  • Doon Harrow: Did you see those store-rooms? They're completely empty. We're gonna run out of food.

    [He looks away from Lina]

Doon Harrow: It doesn't matter anyway. The Generator won't last. And pretty soon it'll be black for good.

  • [Doon and Lina have discovered a hidden bicycle-like jalopy with which their parents had tried to escape Ember, many years ago]

    Lina Mayfleet: What is this?

Doon Harrow: [recognizing the built-from-weird-parts look of the thing] My dad made this.

Lina Mayfleet: It doesn't look very safe.

Doon Harrow: That's my dad. Everything he makes looks like this.
