This is a more painful escape story than "Shenshaw Redemption", and it is a true adaptation. The historical background of the film is that France transported 50,000 prisoners to colonize overseas and stipulated that they would never return to France. The male protagonist is a thief who stole from the gang. After being framed and imprisoned, he unfortunately became one of the 50,000 prisoners and was sent to the colony.
Compared with Shen Shaoke, the living environment of the male protagonist is more cruel, and the prison escape process is more twists and turns. This is also the process of continuous reversal of the movie. The comparison between the inebriated Parisian fandom at the beginning of the film and the lingering of a charming girlfriend and the inhuman life in the back highlights this cruelty. Longing to return to the past life and return to freedom is also what the male protagonist can survive power. Unlike Shen Shaoke, the male protagonist escaped from prison three times in total, and each time he failed and was caught back, he would get a heavier punishment.
In 1/3 of the film, after the first wild attack the prison guard escaped, it may be expected that he was betrayed by the boatman and taken back. The punishment waiting for him was a two-year independent black house, during which the four-eyed inmates bribed the food delivery workers to sneak in every day. Half a coconut to replenish his strength was discovered during an inspection. The food that was originally soup was cut in half. Even so, he still did not tell the prisoner the name of the four eyes.
At 2/3 of the film, the second escape planned by the four of them was considered a success. They arrived at a paradise, but the prison guards arrived the next day. The male protagonist could have escaped, but he went back to save the four eyes and was caught together. Sent to Devil's Island.
Of course, in the end, the male protagonist left Devil's Island and relied on a homemade raft. How to survive at sea rafting? What about water and food? Not attacked by sharks? These movies do not show, and do not need to show, the male protagonist writes his life experience as a memoir and publishes it. What I want to say is that it is different from Shenshaw's redemption. This is a true story. . .
The plot of the film is coherent, and the characters are portrayed in a delicate and clear manner. The male protagonist is Magic Mike, the one from Pacific Rim 1. The online resources are already available, and it is a good recent film. I recommend it!
