Helen, who caught up with the subway, met the handsome James in the carriage, but in the face of James' enthusiastic chat, she just responded coldly when she was depressed. Back home, Helen suffers her second big blow of the day when she discovers that her boyfriend, who makes a living by writing, is fooling around with other women at home. Helen, who had become nothing overnight, made up her mind to make a fresh start and start over. She changed her hairstyle, started her own business, and started a new romance with James. But not long after, she bumped into James in the hospital with his wife to visit his mother. Helen, who thought she had been deceived again, was heartbroken. On the street on the rainy night, James explained to Helen the whole story. It turned out that he had already divorced, and his kind ex-wife was just helping him hide it from his seriously ill mother. The two finally released their suspicions, but just as Helen was about to fall back into James' arms, a speeding truck knocked her to the ground...
In another time and space, Helen, who missed the subway, was unfortunately robbed again. When I came home tiredly, my boyfriend's lover had already left. Helen, who was kept in the dark, worked hard as a restaurant waitress in order to help her boyfriend realize his dream of becoming a writer. Not to mention the boring work, she also encountered deliberate difficulties from her boyfriend's lover. The paper couldn't contain the fire, and Helen, who was pregnant, finally discovered her boyfriend's adultery. She rushed out the door and accidentally fell down the stairs. Helen miscarried, and James' mother died of illness. The two who missed out at the subway station finally met in the elevator of the hospital. But facing the same conversation from James, Helen gave a different answer. Another sliding door slowly closed, this time, is it destined to meet or miss?
I watched this movie in my bedroom when I was in college. After watching the film, a class of students once debated which of the two Helens was luckier. Some people say that it is Helen who caught the subway. Although she died early, she has already experienced true love; some people say that it is Helen who missed the subway. Although she suffered misfortune, she is still alive after all, and living means hope. Who knows?
Our life is connected by countless choices and countless accidents, and every choice and every accident is like a sliding door, leading our destiny in different directions. We never get a chance to go to the other side of the door and take a look, and many times we don't even know which door changed our lives forever.
As the episode sings, we've all thought of it more than once - if only i could turn back time. But, I never can.
