when the "if" is possible

Sometimes liking a movie is also a kind of fate. It just happens that what the film says resonates with what I think. I often wonder, if I had made that choice, what would it be like now? Unfortunately, this question will never be answered. It happens, it happens, there is no "if" in the real world.
Movies, however, make "what if" possible. A momentary difference leads to a series of subsequent changes, even changes in fate... In "Sliding Doors", after the bifurcation of time, two different clues become independent lines and occasionally intersect, which makes people very reverie. What will be the final outcome of the two? In the end, the director chose to return everything to the original point. The heroine still found out her boyfriend's betrayal, and then met the emperor in the elevator and picked up the earrings... This scene brings us back to the beginning of the film... So, will this be the beginning of another cycle? Or will things change in the future? As a viewer, of course I hope things change so that the heroine doesn't die in the end...but who knows what happens after that.
After watching the movie, I kept thinking, what does this movie want to express? As I kept thinking while watching the film, two clues, which one would have a better ending? Is it the first original line, or is it a line that has been changed later? In fact, in this unconscious comparison, I have a psychological suggestion to myself, that is, I think that what has changed will be better, this feeling is like usually, we will be dissatisfied with real life, but always think " If it was like that then, it will be better now." So. But obviously, the director poured cold water on my idea, because it seems that the heroine's life after the change is better than the original clue, but in the end she died after finally finding true love...
