Starring: Song Kang-ho, Shin Ha-kyun, Bae Doo-na

Movie introduction: Ryu, who is congenitally deaf, meets his girlfriend who pretends to be deaf in a special school, and the two develop a good relationship. His sister, who depends on each other, is terminally ill. In order to raise money for life, he is tricked into selling organs and kidnapping the daughter of Dong-jin, a wealthy man, but the most important thing in Dong-jin's life is his daughter. To this end, the two men who lost themselves launched their revenge in the cruel reality.

This film is the first of director Park Chan-wook's "Vengeance Trilogy". The other two are "Old Boy" and "Kind Gold", both of which are excellent works.

From the setting of the characters, the tragic nature of the story is doomed. There is no absolute pros and cons from beginning to end, and each character is an independent individual, so the overall description of the film is relatively depressing, and the revealed despair is not a little bit.

Revenge is a kind of catharsis of helplessness in life. The hope at the beginning has fallen to despair at the end. The whole process is painful and helpless. I think the meaning behind revenge is more worth exploring and reflecting on.

  • Cha Yeong-mi: The bad image kidnappers get is because of kids getting killed. But we're different. Give us the money and we'll return the kid pronto.
