A psychoanalytic perspective

The theme of cannibalism could easily be made into a purely sensory cult, but the gnawing battle between the two sisters in this film is a bit of a mirror image of the Papin sisters. The elder sister represents the primal dynamism of the beast's victory over human nature, in the constant gnawing of human flesh to challenge the taboo laws imposed by reason on the original life force; Demon is an open ending that hangs in the air. On the surface, the entire veterinary school is a surrealistic purgatory of human nature, but in fact the realization of this indulgence is achieved by disciplinary oppression and the system, which has to be said to be an anti-moralist calling for revolution clever irony. In addition, the only male in the film is a weak gay and a masochistic father figure, which also confirms the director's ambition to image a primitive matriarchal society from the side.
