World War II, soldiers, cruelty, humanity, coupled with the highly individual and iconic John Woo and Nicolas Cage, it is expected to be a shocking masterpiece, but obviously Wu's gangster films are very romantic and poetic violence. Aesthetics - the representative picture is that Fa Ge appears in a long black trench coat, looking up in slow motion and striding against the wind, and the tough guy is handsome and ready to show - it can't be highlighted or displayed in a large-scale war at all.
Throughout the whole film, the war scenes are extremely blunt, except for the traditional whistling of bullets, the roar of cannons, and the splashing of shrapnel, there is almost nothing new. Nicolas Cage's decadence is a good illustration of the helplessness and sadness of the corporal who was hurt by the war and suffered from the pain of losing his comrades. In terms of the plot, the protective password warriors that appear pale in themselves, coupled with the use of a dual-line description method, the four men failed to stage a good show, but they felt like they were being robbed by others at any time.
Of course, no one has ever cheated, and even so, it is impossible to deny the talents of Wu and Kai.
