small talk

When I had nothing to do, I listened to "If Time Can Touch", the history of Europe taught by Mr. Zhu Ming, and began to have a strong interest in ancient Greece. Then I watched the recommended movie "City Square" at the bottom of the article, and then again On the recommendation of a friend, I watched "The Story of Xiaosong", which was just talking about Greece. I was still very shocked. Let me talk about my own feelings from the perspective of "democracy".

The education I received from a young age made me feel that the word 'democracy' is completely free, without restrictions, and it is a word that can bring people happiness. In the course of "If Time Can Touch", the first episode is about the square of ancient Greece, which is a place where citizens can express their opinions at will, so Greece is synonymous with democracy, but Themistocles and Socrates It was in such a democratic country, where exile by referendum ended in death, that I began to reflect on the word 'democracy' for the first time. In "Xiao Song Shuo", we talked about the history of Greece. Such a country with amazing achievements in literature, philosophy, mathematics, astronomy, art, etc. was actually defeated by a barbaric Rome next to it, and because of Rome brought the law, which made Rome stronger and stronger later. Democracy was defeated by the law. I understand the reason, but it is another thing to really let my brain accept this matter, and I am confused. The movie "City Square" broke through my last line of defense, and the stronger visual impact made me understand how one-sided I was looking at the problem before. There were so many people and people at the bottom often couldn't make the right decisions. The judgment, if the full sense of democracy, is really a very scary thing.

I am a worker who has been engaged in art since primary school, grew up and is engaged in the art industry. My yearning for democracy should be much deeper than that of ordinary people. The more democratic and free an era is, the higher it is in art. attainments. Most of the art in the dictatorship period was more restrained and square, and it could not be said that it was bad. It was less flexible and more rigorous, so I was longing for democracy and freedom before. Looking back at history now, I still admire Greek art, but I have other views on the definition of democracy.
