Block 13: Saturated Colors in the Ghetto

I wanted to seriously introduce to you a movie I watched recently. But I have a shortcoming, which has always been the case since I was a child, that is, no matter what I do, I am anticlimactic. Forget it, there's no time left, so just say a few words and stop.

At the beginning of the film, the mouse burrows out of the small hole under the corner of the wall, the camera pans upward, and the film title "13 Blocks" appears above the wall in the form of graffiti. The whole picture starts with saturated gray color, showing the poverty of the 13th block to the viewer, while the graffiti on the wall also shows the chaos and unease of this block. The beginning alone makes people look forward to this movie.

The whole film shows the characteristics of heavy metal from the music to the characters' language, and the music is also very suitable. It is worth mentioning that the action design of this film is based on the street extreme sports popular in France in the past few years. The action scenes of the characters are usually unfolded between the roof and the corridor, and the action design is coherent and smooth, and it is incredible. It is also the same as going up and down between different high-rise buildings, and also jumping from the top of Building A to the top of Building B, but the action scenes of this film show their originality in the same way. The action scenes are longer, but they don't seem tiresome at all, on the contrary, they always feel unfinished. The photography style of "13 Blocks" follows the characteristics of French films, with delicate picture quality, clever composition and high color saturation. In terms of film art, the graffiti that can be seen everywhere in the 13th block adds a lot of color to the film. A violent, lack of order, but with infinite power, the 13th block is right in front of us.

The only shortcoming of this film is that the ending is a bit abrupt and monotonous, and it seems that a more colorful ending would be better.

Overall, a 100 minute movie is like NIRVANA or METALIC rock. After watching it, I felt a sense of relief.

highly recommended.
