The film tells the story of Emily and Oliver's 7 years of on-off and on-off.

The first encounter was seven years ago at Los Angeles Airport: Emily was unrestrained and free and easy, and she was still kissing her band boyfriend reluctantly to part. In a blink of an eye, the two had an argument and Emily threw a drink bottle at her boyfriend. Oliver was immature and shy, carrying the camera with anticipation to visit his younger brother who was studying law in New York, and witnessed the scene of Emily's tragic breakup. Afterwards, Olive saw Emily in the departure lounge, who was still wiping away her tears, and her undisguised curious eyes finally hid everywhere under Emily's naked provocative gaze. On the plane, Olive went to the bathroom to wash the clothes soiled by the drink, but didn't want Emily to come in too, the two of them XXOO. After the plane landed, Olive dared to strike up a conversation, the two chatted on the subway, and ended with Emily's name.

The second encounter was a few days later, on a New York street corner. Oliver's coat was stolen, and he had to buy a thin green sweater and a knitted green scarf to wander the streets, when he stumbled upon Emily. In order to skip the date with her father and stepmother, Emily wants to accompany Oliver to get the "check result". The two drank and chatted, and Olive talked about his life plan: create a career to make money, buy a house, buy a car, get married, and leave the phone number of his parents' house for Emily to call to verify after six years. The two went shopping and took pictures, and kissed goodbye at the beginning of the lanterns.

The third meeting was three years later, the day before New Years, in Los Angeles. Emily was dumped by her writer boyfriend because of her pursuit of an acting career, and her audition was not in the state. Friends advised her not to spend the New Year alone. Frustrated, she tried to call Oliver's house, and Oliver invited him. The two went to a Chinese restaurant. In order to let Emily talk about her thoughts, they played the game of whoever speaks first and who loses. Of course, Oliver, who has a deaf brother, won. The two then went to a party to welcome the New Year. Seeing that Emily, the writer boyfriend who had a new love, was sad, and kept drinking and getting himself drunk, Oliver comforted him silently. The countdown to the new year sounded, and Emily came out of the bathroom and was brought to the vicinity of her ex-boyfriend by the crowd, watching her writer boyfriend kiss her new love. Fortunately, at the last moment, Oliver found Emily and hugged her and kissed her warmly. The two came to Oliver's house and found that the house was empty. It turned out that Oliver was going to move to San Francisco the next day in order to pursue a career (selling diapers). Emily was drunk in Olive's toilet. When she woke up, Olive had left, leaving behind his beloved camera.

The fourth meeting was two years later, on the doorstep of Emily's house in Los Angeles. Oliver in San Francisco was dumped by his girlfriend because he was pursuing a career. He came to the door of Emily's house in frustration. At this time Emily became a photographer and met a nice man Ben. Emily was thinking about continuing the relationship, but she didn't expect that Oliver had been complaining about her troubles. The two were driving to eat, and accidentally discovered that one of Emily's friends was with her writer boyfriend. The two frustrated people continued to drive and drove all the way to the national park, drinking and chatting under the moonlight, and took nude photos together. The next morning, on the way back, Oliver said that he was going to New York to win venture capital, and he had to sort out his relationship with his ex-girlfriend. Emily said that he had met a good person, and the two were separated. After that, Oliver went to New York to seek venture capital. After the meeting, he received a call from Emily and asked him to go to his mother's cemetery to pay homage. Oliver hesitated, but chose a career and got venture capital.

The fifth meeting was a year later, on the doorstep of Emily's house. Oliver's career in San Francisco failed, and he returned to his parents' home in Los Angeles with nothing. I stumbled across an exhibition of Emily's works, and there was a photo of him kissing naked in the moonlight. Good memories flooded into his heart, he wandered around the entrance of the exhibition expecting to meet Emily but never got the chance. With the encouragement of my brother, I went to Emily's house to find her. Playing and singing at Emily's house, Emily rejected him on the grounds that she was already engaged to Ben.

The sixth meeting was at Oliver's parents' house half a year later. After the last time, Emily had always been conflicted in her heart. One day, she accidentally found a roll of film. After printing it, she found that it was a photo taken by Oliver when Emily broke up with her band boyfriend at the airport seven years ago. Emily always thought that this relationship was her initiative, but Oliver took a picture of her before the two met. Emily, who was looking at the photo, finally saw her heart and broke up with Ben that night. The next day, Emily confided to a friend that she had broken up with Ben and was going to see Oliver. A friend told her that she saw Oliver in a suit shop the day before, who was making a suit for a wedding. Emily still decided to tell him the fact of breaking up, and when the phone couldn't get through, she went to great lengths to get his address and drive there. Oliver's house is really a happy atmosphere of marriage. Emily looked at Oliver in formal clothes, and finally felt a step late and ran away in a hurry. Oliver hurriedly ran after her, kissed her, told him that it was her sister who was married that day, and Emily burst into tears, and the two embraced. The film ends happily.

In the first few encounters, before parting, Emily stopped talking to Oliver, saying "Don't. You'll ruin it." again and again, braking in time, remembering the beauty of that moment, maybe it was The best choice; Oliver is the same, always put his career first in the early stage. The two went around in circles for seven years, and finally saw the heart of each other. But going back in time, will they make different choices? I don't think so. Timing is a metaphysics. Likewise, will instant love lead to eternity, and how far can their love go?
