nothing but belief of individual

I still remember the extremely long shot of the conversation between Bobby and priest. Seldom film would try this cause spectator need stimulus during the 90 minutes, or they may feel bored. However, those time just create a environment with intense tension. In the middle , the priest seems to convince Bobby and the audience that it is just meaningless to starve until death while nothing can be actually changed. I waved, but what Bobby said shocked me. He talked about the colt he ran into while he was still a child, showed what he believed. He got punished in the wood for killing the pitiful creature, but he knew, everyone knew, he did the right thing. It's just some kind of Jusus-like act, suffer one, save all. It is through this that the sense of worth lasting his whole life established.

So I came to understand, it is a movie nothing about politic, nation nor war, it's everything about the belief of a single, one, individual. I think that is this movie try to convey us----the greatness of human being . Even anti-natural, suffering and torturous situation can be made, because the strong belief in the deep sold of one's mind. That is what depart human from all the other creatures.

Father Dominic Moran: Aye. Said as much.

Bobby Sands: When you're hung from a cross you're gonna say anything. Jesus offers him a seat next to his daddy in a place called paradise you're always gonna put your hand up and have a piece of that.

Father Dominic Moran: Aye. Even when it's nailed to your cross.

  • Father Dominic Moran: [offering Sands a cigarette] Bit of a break from smokin' the Bible, eh?

Father Dominic Moran: Anyone work out which book is the best smoke?

Bobby Sands: We only smoke the Lamentations. A right miserable cigarette.
