Dog life is also life (including some spoilers)

A few thoughts of your own.

This film directed by Lasse tells the story of dogs, but it tells people countless times that it is also a story of people. The film begins with the monologue of a dog, which tells about the different encounters of a dog in several reincarnations. These encounters seem to be a metaphor for a person's life.

The film begins with three questions, What is the meaning of life? Are we here for reason? Is there a point to any of this? Why do you want to live?), the three questions seem to be people's questions about their own life.

There is nothing special about this dog's first life. It feels that there is only a warm feeling when it is born. After opening its eyes, it is just to play every day. It's like human childhood. We don't have any special memories when we were young. We played outside every day, as if time didn't exist. The dog's first life was finally captured by the dog team (this is the case in this life), a metaphor for childhood slipping away unknowingly.

The dog's second reincarnation has an owner (Ethan) and his own name (Billy). Billy thinks Ethan is everything, and it exists to make Ethan happy. This stage is actually when a person enters the youth period, has a lover, and only has a lover in his eyes. It seems that the rest of the world has been weakened, and making a loved one happy is the greatest meaning of human beings. But love is not perfect. With Ethan being jealous of his classmates and caught in a fire, Ethan lost his beloved football due to his physical condition, along with his college scholarship and girlfriend. Ethan went to a distant school to attend the Agricultural University, and Billy had to be separated from Ethan. The metaphor at this time is that people and their lover may be separated for various reasons.

The third reincarnation became Ellie, the Chicago police dog, whose owner is the policeman Wally. In this life, the dog has been working, even with regular training to make it feel like work. This life is a metaphor for the working period of man. When people start to be completely self-reliant, they have to work in order to survive, and work takes up most of their lives. Ellie's owner, Wally, is often lonely. Although the smell of his wife and children at home is very weak, it is speculated that something may have happened that caused the children and wife to leave Wally. Although police officer Wally has been honored, he has been lonely at home. It is a metaphor that when people are at work, some people cannot handle the relationship with their families well. Although they have achieved a lot at work, they have alienated their families in turn.

The owner of the fourth reincarnation is Maya, and the puppy's name is Tino. Tino and Maya's relationship is like family. In this life, Tino accompanies Maya to fall in love, get married, have children, and grow old. In the end, dust returns to dust. This life seems to be talking about the relationship between people and family. Everyone has a family after they start a family with their lover. In the film, Maya has always understood Tino very well, and Tino also knows Maya very well, implying that the real family actually understands you very well, knows your difficulties, knows your mood, and I hope you have a good life.

The fifth reincarnation is both lucky and unfortunate. At first, the dog was bought by a girl, but her boyfriend didn't like dogs very much, so the dog was kept in a shabby yard. (Actually, it makes me sad to see another tear here.) In the end, the dog was abandoned. Personally, I think it is a metaphor for the old age of many people. Maybe many elderly people have been trapped at home, or trapped in their own hearts, walking the rest of their journey lonely.

The lucky part of the fifth reincarnation is that this dog has found the owner of his second reincarnation - Ethan, the person he most wants to accompany. This is actually a chapter containing hope. Maybe some people will never reach this stage in their entire lives, and maybe some people have realized their dreams and have memories that will not be in vain.

When I watched this film, I was very moved, and it reminded me of the lives of many people. Maybe it's really hard to live in the moment, but it's easy to do, isn't it?

Once again, I sighed at the wonderful arrangement of fate. When I just saw the first trailer of "A Dog's Mission" last year, I made a silent and devout wish in my heart, hoping to wait for a girl to accompany each other to watch this dog movie in the theater. , feel that share together, "reincarnated many times, and every time I am only moved by the tears of meeting you". It's as if the movie god heard my wish, and tonight I will see the end with my beloved girl very tenderly

Crying heartily in the cinema, even if it is malicious and sensational, I don't care. After watching the life and death to raise a dog, my father agreed in a second. After my mother scolded us both of us, we finally became honest.

A Dog's Purpose quotes

  • Carlos: [into his police radio] My dog's been shot! I repeat, canine shot!

Ellie: [narrating] I always hated getting shots. This was definitely the worst shot I ever got.

  • Tino: [at the veternarian] What's with these white-coat people sticking me with sharp things?
