This is the least French movie I've ever seen. People who haven't been to France, haven't seen French movies and don't know France will say that the French advocate romance and love when they mention France. This story is certainly no exception. Unfortunately, since Julien's mother died, the whole movie has rolled and rolled like that round box, veering off topic and getting out of hand. The original romance and love were replaced by nonsense and games. And was pushed to the highest peak by the final ending - that is, fooling a lot of audiences. Many people compare its sophistication and tricks with Amélie, but in fact it is far less kind than Amélie. Maybe the director made her so mean and unreasonable to highlight that Sophie was a Polish immigrant? During the interview, the director actually compared the two protagonists with Romeo and Juliet. Then he added a sentence, but the results of the two protagonists were self-inflicted. Yes, love is beautiful, and movies are art. But that doesn't mean absurd. Leaving aside the point of "sacrifice", there are only three words to describe the relationship between the two protagonists before. True love is never the same as willfulness, malice and irresponsibility. The ten-year parting and the final outcome cannot explain the loopholes that the director is unable to fix. The ending is just the director's self-righteous false romance. Rather than interpreting this scene as a sacrifice for love, it is more appropriate to escape the word. Because even Romeo and Juliet never slept with someone they didn't love for ten years, or ran away to die for love after having two children. Usually French movies are always more delicate and delicate than Hollywood movies, but this one is really not cute. Because it's too unnatural. Even though there are some fairly touching moments and wise dialogues. Yes it is a lot like love. Almost made me believe it.
