Thoughts derived from why Keyboard always commits suicide

At the beginning of the movie, the second Keyboard committed suicide.
We don't know why the second keybord committed suicide, but why the director DON committed suicide gave us the complete process.
When DON first asked JON on the rooftop what he thought of Frank, DON's eyes were shining. He really admired Frank and felt that Frank was a genius. Frank's talent was beyond reach.
Later when he was walking with JON, he once again lamented Frank's genius.
Then when JON was composing the music, DON felt that JON's tune was not good, saying that he really understood that he wanted to make a good song but felt like a shit, and then played his own tune. JON said that he thought his music and DON's music were great, but DON said it was terrible, and neither of them could be Frank.
DON wanted to be a genius like Frank, but he knew he would never be Frank.

I think this band has four types of people at the beginning of the movie.
Frank, Clara.
DON and the second keyboardist
drummer and bass
JON

Frank and Clara are unusual geniuses. They have amazing talents, but they also have fatal flaws-they can't cater to the world, can't blend in the ordinary world. The difference is that Clara understands that they no longer insist on connecting with the world, and Frank strives to make the world accept that they love them.
DON and the second keyboard player, they can touch the world of genius and have their own shortcomings. They can blend into the world of genius, and they can also blend into the world of ordinary people after disguising (Frank said in the movie that DON is now and ordinary People fall in love, but they have to find a way to keep his lovers still), but because he can walk in two worlds, he understands that Frank is amazing and unique, and he also knows that he will never move. Can't be someone like Frank.
The drummer and bass, in fact, feel that these two are the ones who can see the most clearly.
JON is normal. In the eyes of ordinary people, these geniuses become geniuses because of various reasons-I am not as genius as him, because I have never experienced those pains. We consider ourselves very high and we think we always think that we can't be famous because we don't have a chance, but we know in our hearts that this is not the case. We are unknown, not because we don't work hard, but because we don't have enough talents.

JON wanted to seek a position in the band from the beginning, but he slowly understood DON’s words, Frank is a genius; but he did not agree with DON’s "We Can’t Be Frank" because he never wanted to be Frank from the beginning Instead, he wants to succeed-this is also the difference between him and DON. He and DON see the difference and pursue different goals. What DON saw in Frank was an unattainable talent; as an ordinary person, JON also loved music and wanted to be recognized by others, but at the same time he also saw what this talent can obtain in ordinary society. He tweeted, posted YouTube, and urged everyone to go to the music festival, all because of this. He wants the band to be famous, but what he wants is different from what Frank wants. JON’s view of YouTube views and Frank’s view of YouTube views themselves represent these two things. JON’s views represent well-known, and Frank’s eyes represent "how many people like their music and love They"-they were not in the same world from the beginning.
When JON was on stage at the last music festival, JON was very excited to sing his own song. Until this moment, he still pursues that he can be recognized by everyone and be seen by everyone. Through the cause of Frank, he got the opportunity... JON got the opportunity from Clara. Robbed Frank in his heart, probably because he had always known in his heart that without Frank, he could not go so far and could not get here. He never understood that Frank was different from him, just as he always cared about Frank's hood and wanted to take off Frank's hood, instead of not caring about Frank like Clara and DON, and getting along with Frank.
In the movie, Frank fell down on stage. When JON stopped singing, there was a detail. Frank said that this was really bad. After they messed up everything, JON looked back at the girl he liked in the backstage. The world they care about and live in has never been different.

However, the geniuses represented by Frank do not really want to melt into this world. They have not tried it, but they are inherently different from ordinary people. It's not that I don't want to, but I can't.
Frank tried, and then failed.

Frank quotes

  • Jon Burroughs: Miserable childhood. Mental illness. Where do I find that kind of inspiration?

  • Frank: I've always dreamed of one day having a band member who shared my vision of creating extremely likable music. So, thank you, Jon. You gave me the little push I needed.
