like a child

This article was first published on the public account movie hawker (xiaofandedianying), sharing my movie treasures and recording the simple years.

Children are innocent, lovely, beautiful, and worthy of infinite miss by those who have grown up. Many filmmakers like to go back to their hometown to film their childhood.

On the way home from the shoe repair shop, my brother accidentally lost his sister's only pair of shoes. In order for his sister to help him keep a secret from his father's punishment, and for his sister to have shoes to wear when she goes to school, the brother and sister share the only pair of shoes. So the siblings took turns wearing the same pair of shoes to school every day. The younger sister runs home from school wearing ill-fitting shoes and asks the older brother to put on his shoes to go to school (in the movie the school hours for boys and girls are different). My brother's greatest wish is to buy a pair of shoes for my sister, so I don't have to be late for school because of waiting for the shoes to wear.

The elder brother planned to go with his father to help the rich man's yard trim trees to make money and then buy a pair of shoes for his sister. Unexpectedly, his father accidentally fell and broke a bone while riding home. The story turned around because of a long-distance running competition. As a prize, the third place in the competition will receive a pair of sneakers. In order to fulfill his promise to his sister, his brother decided to participate in the competition. At the end of the race, my brother accidentally fell. Fearing that he wouldn't get the third place, he got up and tried his best but accidentally hit the line first. My brother's teacher lifted him up and congratulated him. He asked the teacher if he won the third place. The teacher said he was a fool, you are the champion! Big people gave him awards and took pictures with him, but his brother was disappointed because he couldn't get sneakers. At the end of the movie, in the face of his sister's eagerly looking forward gaze, the brother rubbed his hands together in embarrassment and didn't say a word. The sister understood the brother's guilt and turned away. The elder brother took off the shoes whose soles had worn out and put his feet full of blisters into the pool. The little goldfish swam over and kissed his little feet.

What the brother and sister didn't know was that the father who had earned the money had bought them both new little shoes. Parents work hard to create better living conditions for their children, and brothers and sisters try their best to get a pair of shoes together. During this process, the elder brother took great care of his younger sister. Even if he was late and was reprimanded for misunderstanding by the dean, he would not reveal the dilemma that the two shared a pair of shoes. The younger sister did not ask the classmates who found her shoes and whose family conditions were worse than hers to return the shoes. The blind father of a classmate picked up the pair of shoes and gave them as a gift to his daughter, who then threw away her more worn shoes. Sympathy and pity are cheap and powerless in front of such innocent children, and children will not even understand the overflowing emotions of adults.

I didn't experience such a difficult situation as in the movie as a child, but we also have our own little wishes. The shoes I wore when I was a child were basically handmade shoes, the soles were melaleuca soles, and the uppers were made of several layers of cotton cloth that were pasted up and then dried, and finally resembled the uppers of hard leather. Every time I put on new shoes, my feet are a little squeezed, but when the new shoes are soft, they will become more comfortable. At the beginning, I was most looking forward to the moment of wearing new cloth shoes, even if it was very strenuous and squeezed my feet, I had to lift the upper and pedal hard by myself, but after all, I was wearing new shoes, and I began to walk cautiously. Later, when my friends started wearing those bright white sneakers, I started to look forward to having a pair of sneakers that were not handmade but sold in the store with a rubber sole and white upper. Children's requirements are always clear and clear, I want this, I don't want that, but they are always very easy to meet. When we get used to the comfort and convenience brought by social development and start to pursue something at a higher level, we may be in a trance for a moment, how good it is to be a child.

Children of Heaven quotes

  • Ali: Zahra, I have good news.

    Zahra: What news?

Ali: I am selected for the race.

    Zahra: What race?

Ali: Long-Distance Running. The third-best runner gets a pair of new sneakers.

    Zahra: Why the third?

Ali: The First and Second prizes are something else. If I come in third, I'll give you the sneakers.

Zahra: But those shoes are for boys.

Ali: I'll exchange them. I'll get a pair of girl's shoes for you.

Zahra: What if you don't come in third?

Ali: I'll be third for sure.
