White Ribbon The story of a German child. This movie is about the source of Nazi ideology in World War I and World War II. In this movie, there are father-son relationships within the family, doctors, barons, housekeepers, farmers. Strange stories keep happening in a small village, but there is still no clue. Under the extremely depressing and dull family background and the patriarchal system, there is a huge national tragedy hidden. The children inside rebel against the whole society by rebelling against the patriarchy. After each crime, they wear a white ribbon. The white ribbon symbolizes purity, but even if the body is bound, it cannot resist the crime of inner anger. The children borrowed the hand of God to do the "right thing" for granted. As Marx said: It is not consciousness that determines life, but life determines consciousness. This environment also created the Nazi party.

A rancid smell soaked into the marrow.

The ambience is very well created, in the style of Glass and Burr. This is what a typical pre-war northern German village should look like in my imagination. I don't feel depressed when I'm used to this kind of film. The chants and piano pieces are the sporadic colors that adorn the whole film. The white ribbon is a metaphor for the swastika armband. The film is not boring but not worth five stars. Those who have seen through the entire World War II from this film will have to give you a few admission tickets to the concentration camps.

  • The Doctor: My God, why don't you just die?
