Personal narrow views, welcome advice.
I would like to explain from two aspects.
1. Title
"White Ribbon" Double Meaning
(1) It symbolizes purity and beauty. (surface meaning)
(2) The story is realistic, ugly and dirty. (deep meaning: irony)
2. Human nature. (some of the following aspects)
(1) The villager's son took revenge on the baron for his dead mother and hanged his son Sigi.
(2) In-depth dialogue between doctors and midwives. All the desires, truth, ugliness and filth in the doctor's heart are exposed (the real world of men, the fickleness and fickleness of human nature)
(3) The house was burned for unknown reasons (inner resentment, jealousy, sin)
(4) The mysterious death of the old man under the Baron. (Artificial? Conspiracy?)
(5) After the X behavior of the doctor and the midwife, the doctor is calm and exhausted. (The relationship between the two is dying for many years)
(6) The pastor's youngest son witnessed the filth between the doctor and his eldest daughter Anni. (Doctor's Psychopath)
(7) The priest's daughter Klara killed her brother's caged bird. (Consequences of Depression)
(8) The Baron's son Karli was beaten again. (unwilling)
(9) The younger son of another villager pushes the baron's son Sigi into the water. (jealous)
(10) The split between the Baron and his wife. Madam's new love, eager to leave. Baron's angry accusation (machismo and superiority)
(11) The midwife fled, leaving behind his mentally retarded and hapless son Karli. The whereabouts of the doctor and his children are unknown. (avoiding responsibility, daring to take it, living for oneself)
Third, the last
A conversation between Anni and the little guy.
Dying, aging, dying.
Death is eternal existence and eternal life. No one can escape.
above.
Criticisms welcome.
