After watching this American drama, I realized that that period of history turned out to be so magnificent and soul-stirring, at least it made me want to watch it. I finished watching the first season last year, and now I'm watching the second season. Although there is an element of interpretation in the TV series, according to the producer of the play, the plot is more than 80% consistent with history.
The narrative technique of this historical drama is flexible and gripping, and the characters in the play are vivid and ready to appear. Coupled with the highly contagious music rendering and exquisite costume and prop design, it constitutes a rich visual feast.
Henry VIII is the soul of this film. During his reign, the most vigorous reform was the religious reform, but this is only a big background of the film, and what drives the development of the plot is the evolution of the intricate relationship between Henry VIII and various characters around him. There are Archbishop Wolsey and Justice Thomas Moore, whom he favors for a while, Katherine, a wife he doesn't really love, and Ann Boleyn, a woman who once drove him crazy. However, whether it was Henry VIII's former right-hand man or the woman he was deeply in love with, he was finally driven to a dead end. Of his six queens, two were guillotined by himself. How can such a bizarre and gossip historical theme fail to attract the attention of the audience? Maybe just the many beautiful beauties in the play are enough to make many viewers feel that they have not wasted their time in vain. And Henry VIII in history, it is said that the image is extremely ugly and wretched, but in this film, he appears in a handsome and unrestrained image, hehe, the box office earns the first!
Of course, there are also many regrets in this film: there are almost no big scenes, the 3D production is not detailed enough, and so on. However, this does not prevent it from being a long-lasting exciting work!
