Maybe only the hairpin can explain why Chloe loves Katherine so deeply

For this kind of morbid love, I really don't understand that Chloe can fall in love with Catherine at first sight to the level of revenge suicide. There is not much contact between the two, maybe only the hairpin can explain it. Maybe Chloe's mother just died. Found the shadow in the female doctor, Liam plot.
