War and love, or, in other words, love under the smoke of gunpowder, always seem to shock people. However, I am not very keen on love in war. War is war, cruel and bloody, and I have no time to think about the true meaning of love. Some are just physical pleasures, some are just mutual comfort and satisfaction. In order to temporarily forget the cruelty of war, It's like the man and woman in the city under the army.
However, the French mind does not allow romantic love to be tainted by brutal wars. The story did not take place on the battlefield filled with gunpowder smoke, but described the difficult process of finding a husband after the war.
What moved me was not the regret of broken love brought about by the cruel war, but the courage to keep the promise.
The whole story is eloquently told, the whole process is not that kind of magnificent, there is no eachother, and it is not a magnificent love. It is that belief that supports, no one believes that he will survive, there is no evidence that he is alive, this is a road with no results in sight, but she is walking bravely, never giving up the idea of she believes in love, she I believe he will live for her.
Love in good times is always so sweet, like in a lighthouse, on top of a church. However, love that can survive in adversity can last forever.
Every time I get to the last scene, I can't help but watch it twice. Atmospheric and warm soundtrack, warm sunshine, bright smile, there is no passion for reunion after a long time, separation of life and death. It was so peaceful, it was as if nothing had happened. "Just look at him, look at him, look at him.
We're still alive, we're still together.
This is enough.
