Of the two versions, I prefer the German original. Not just because I watched the original first, but because the original feels more sincere.
The original version does not have handsome men and women as the protagonists, but the interaction between the two is very natural and delicate.
Catherine Zeta-Jones is beautiful, but the older she gets, the more vulgar she gets, and she always feels that her acting is a bit pretentious. Aaron Eckhart ("Thank You for Smoking", "Conversations with Other Women") is one of my favorite actors, but his cynicism here seems to be missing something. As for the chemistry between the two, it's totally cooked up, like something right off the assembly line.
And the little girl in this film, Abigail Breslin, she's really cute and plays in "Little Miss Sunshine" Very good, but after that, her appearance rate was too high. For a while, it seemed that she was in every film that needed a girl star, which really caused my aesthetic fatigue. In my eyes, she is already an old bean.
The story is, of course, a good one, but it's all thanks to the original screenwriter.
