After reading "Street Diary", the most intuitive feeling it gave me turned out to be this.
Walking on the street, you will be threatened with shooting anytime, anywhere. Don't dare to take to the streets at will! At first, I thought it was just like that. It should be better now, but then I suddenly thought on the way back to the dormitory. Some time ago, during the National Day, there seemed to be a "shooting" in the United States... Think about it carefully, It's really scary, and I don't dare to go abroad casually. After a comparison, I found that I still feel very safe in China, and I even want to sing long live the motherland!
The division of circles and turf in the film is very clear, but basically there is no communication between the circles. Although they do not understand the internal situation of other circles, they are tacitly hostile to other circles. It wasn't until Irene played "online" games with her classmates that everyone knew a little bit about her classmates outside their own circle. Every time Irene said, "Who has ever...", classmates who had the same experience stood on the line and looked up and found that "you" was the same as me. The students felt special about the question raised by Irene. "Idiot", but when he saw that his classmates who he didn't know at all had so much in common with him, the surprise in his eyes could not be concealed.
We are used to working in our own circles, guessing about other people’s circles, and we are never willing to communicate and understand, so there are more and more misunderstandings, more and more barriers, and the world is less and less beautiful. The students in the film are in different circles, which they call gangs. Although they are in different gangs, their demands are very simple, and they just hope to survive simply and safely. Erin, as a white man, wanted to help these children at the beginning of the film, but the students' words were true, she didn't understand their lives, their conditions. So Erin deepened her understanding of the children and started asking them to keep diaries and so on.
The classmates in the film fight for their so-called gangs in their circles, basically licking blood on the tip of a knife every day. Confined to the circle they are in, they can't even understand the culture of other circles in time, so they miss a lot of the beauty of the world and take a lot of detours.
In reality, we seem to be similar, and the film is just an enlarged version of us. I still remember that in elementary school, girls would also be divided into various gangs, such as apple pie, and there would be gang leaders. It is ridiculous to think about it now, but it was serious at the time. If you are not from this gang, you cannot join our games, parties, etc. When I was in junior high school, I felt that the relationship between girls was too complicated, so I didn't want to play with girls, so I didn't know much about it, but I heard that there would still be. On the contrary, I have more contact with boys. In junior high and high school, it seems that boys have a clearer gang relationship than girls. There are often friends who will call a bunch of so-called "brothers" because of some things, and then go to gang fights... As long as they are in the gang When people are bullied, they will definitely find someone to "revenge" and restore face to the "brother" who was bullied. By high school, everyone seemed to have matured quite a bit and wouldn't scoff at every turn. Because of my own reasons, my lifestyle changed completely in high school, and I had a certain understanding of various circles. I had contact and understanding of the so-called "scholar circles", "scumbag circles", "girls circles" and "boys circles", and then suddenly found out , It turns out that everyone's idea is like this, after breaking the circle, I understand everyone better, many things are handled more easily, and the effect is more ideal. In fact, there was no circle at first, it was just something that everyone made to find a sense of belonging for themselves. Although the sense of belonging is there, it also brings a sense of distance, and the distance from the world and everyone is getting farther and farther.
Not only students, there are always various circles in social life, political, business, academic... Everyone has certain boundaries with each other and does not understand each other, but when dealing with problems, it is often not a circle It can be solved, and we need everyone to communicate with each other to solve the problem well.
Circles, a magical thing, give you a sense of belonging, but at the same time give you a sense of distance. Confined to a circle, people may die soon... After breaking the circle, I suddenly discovered that the world is so big! It turns out that things are so simple, and you can still play like this! It turns out that everyone is almost the same, looking forward to the world!
