the power of writing

The movie "Diary of a Freelance Writer" I watched today is a movie based on a true story: the first job of the heroine Ailin was as a teacher in the worst class at school. At that time, the racial struggle in the United States was serious, and most of the children in the class were from the bottom of the society. They divided into factions and fought with each other. Ailin tried every means to dispel the hostility between them, but the child did not trust her, and instead made fun of her everywhere. Erin began to read Anne's Diary to children and encouraged those like Anne to keep their own diaries. In this way, it not only builds trust between teachers and students, but also helps those children who have lost their souls to find their own way.

Is writing so powerful? I think there are three advantages to writing:

1. Record your life.

People are a kind of creature that is easy to forget. Looking back, you will find that, except for those things that impress you, many times, your time is blank, you don’t know what you have done, and time just passes by . So if you can write down your daily records, such as reading, writing, exercise, diet, etc., you will have an intuitive understanding of your current life situation, and you can make better use of time and time management.

2. Improve mood.

Nine times out of ten, life is unsatisfactory. We often have times when we are unhappy, and we cannot tell others about it, then a diary is the most loyal friend. You can write down your fears or anxieties, which is actually a process of "desensitizing" yourself, and allows you to think deeply about the reasons behind your emotions, which is also more conducive to solving problems. You can also record the moments when you feel happy, your gratitude stories, your small achievements, and read them when you are not happy, which will also effectively relieve negative emotions.

3. Find happiness.

Man is a thinking reed. If possible use a journal to record your reflections, inspirations and thoughts. Not only can you learn lessons from your past life, but it can also help you better find your own life direction, find your own meaning in life, and find your own happiness.

So how do you keep writing? This is my little experience.

1. Choose a suitable writing tool.

You need a portable, decent-sized notebook and a pen that can write smoothly. I think the size of the A5 will be more suitable, it can be carried around, it will not be too big, and it will not be too small. Then horizontal lines or graph paper would be more appropriate. You can choose to write with a pen.

2. Write every day.

Chances are you don’t know what to write, and you fall back into the fear of writing essays as a child. In fact, there are many things to write, such as your thoughts, your creativity, what you did today; your emotional diary, gratitude diary, reading diary; your dreams, your challenges; your relationship with your family and friends The relationship between ... just keep writing, don't worry about typos, relax a little, just keep writing

3. Keep it real.

Be honest with your life, and be sure to record your truest thoughts and feelings. We already have multiple roles and multiple perspectives in our lives. Diary is your secret garden, allowing you to feel your truest self.

4. Keep it private.

Given the authenticity of the diary, sharing it with others is probably not a good idea, and you can selectively share some chapters with others. But don't expose the whole book to others, which may lead you to be afraid of leaking your privacy and reluctant to record yourself in your diary. Moreover, writing is to find your inner strength, to free yourself from the influence of others, and to find your own path in life.

The most impressive passage in the film is the teacher's toast, she said: "The theme of the toast is change, which means that from now on, no one can say that you can't do it. All the reasons that stop you from changing yourself. All will disappear, the old you will never appear again, and now it is a brand new you."

So, when you feel a little anxious, confused, and confused, why don't you try writing, maybe you will find a brand new self from writing!
