"Black Book" VS "Lust and Caution"

Watching this film, it is inevitable to compare it with Lust, Caution, and it turns out that the angle is very different.

"Lust and Caution" is a very simple line, but in the seemingly peaceful relationship between a female spy and a male traitor, there are dark tides. In the end, the female spy lost in lust forgets her mission and sacrifices herself and end up with his own partner. The atmosphere created by the film is depressing, but there is an inner tension. The director spends more pen and ink on the complex psychological changes in the relationship between men and women, and handles the details very well; while "Black Book" is about a complete and huge The story is tight, twists and turns and gripping. There are traitors, resolute revolutionaries, spies, and infighting. The relationship is complicated, but it is also very lively. The director tells this story very loudly, and it is considered a success.

If I had to compare "Black Book" with "Lust, Caution", and from a woman's standpoint, I would think Munts was much cuter than Mr. Yi. The rare love and sobriety might be due to the experience of his wife and children. Let him see the face of the war clearly, he didn't kill Ellis after knowing her identity, and finally saved her, and the two of them lived a happy life, which was not easy.

"Lust and Caution" is a part of the whole, while "Black Book" is very comprehensive. In general, both films are well done, although I may prefer "Lust and Caution".

Although European films have the disadvantage of slow rhythm, small scenes, and lack of historical depth, the story is very real and the color of nationalism is very strong.

Say it is a foreign version of Lust and Caution? I haven't watched Lust, Caution, but it's really not interesting. The director of the intelligence bureau doesn't look like a high-ranking official at all, so nice, and so infatuated. MS China's war with the enemy is also a bit cunning.

[Hans Akkermans is locked in the coffin, as a punishment for his murderous treason, struggling to get out by kicking and screaming]

Rachel Stein aka Ellis de Vries: We should actually get up and open the coffin.

    Gerben Kuipers: Yeah. We should...

[both Rachel and Gerben remain seated, gazing at the river]

Gerben Kuipers: What should we do with all the money?

Rachel Stein aka Ellis de Vries: It doesn't belong to us.

Gerben Kuipers: It doesn't belong to anybody.

Rachel Stein aka Ellis de Vries: To the dead...

[the sound of Hans Akkermans's screams stops, meaning he is now dead. Gerben raises his finger]

    Gerben Kuipers: He's quiet. Finally.

Rachel Stein aka Ellis de Vries: It seemed forever.

  • General Käutner: Obersturmführer, open your safe.

Günther Franken: Of course. Which files would you like to see?

General Käutner: None. You're suspected of killing rich Jews. There's nothing wrong with that. But you've been looting the bodies and keeping the valuables for yourself. Failure to turn Jewish property over to the Reich is punishable by death. Open the safe.

Günther Franken: As you wish, Obergruppenführer.
