"Bane"

Recommended by relatives and friends, I watched an American drama "Bane", also called "Inaction", which was staged this year. The type set on the Internet is plot suspense thriller crime. After watching it, I feel that it is very consistent except that it is not too scary and not too scary.

The protagonists of the film are all big names. Except for the bald female lawyer who has never met, Grace is played by Nicole Kidman, Jonathan is played by Hugh Grant, and grandfather Franklin is played by Donald Sutherland, all of whom have familiar faces. The acting is also excellent. For example, when Grace saw the hammer hidden by her son Henry, her eyes widened in surprise, and she suppressed her anger and said softly to her son: "Let's talk about it now." He didn't refute, just shrugged his nose slightly. After Jonathan's accident, he cried to Grace, distraught, and the wrinkles on his face were drama. These expressions and movements require deep acting skills and nuanced experience of life, which cannot be done by non-big players. Little Henry also played very well, and the future is unlimited. If you look closely, there are some minor flaws. Grant was crying about that scene, his tearful face, his brows suddenly raised, the corners of his mouth upturned, he felt like he was about to laugh, but fortunately the camera turned away immediately.

The story of the film is not complicated. After a murder case, the audience followed the police vigorously to find the murderer. Suspected to be the deceased's lover Jonathan. So the entanglement of family and friendship, the confrontation between lawyers and prosecutors, and the contest between police and suspects, finally the truth came out. In this kind of film, the audience must be most concerned about "who is the murderer"? Naturally, I was pondering while watching, widening my eyes and pricking my ears to listen. In fact, this is just a gimmick in the play. You could say it was Grace or Grandpa or Jonathan, and I even suspect Grace's best friend, the lawyer and the school principal. The same is true for the director. He wants whoever is the murderer to be the murderer. It is nothing more than creating a few plots and guiding the clues to the murderer created by the director. It is not difficult. If everyone figured it out, it wouldn't matter who the murderer was. Everyone's attention can then turn to the motives and methods of murder, the relationship between people in society, and the analysis of family ethics.

After watching the play, I immediately think of the novel "Crime and Punishment" by the Russian writer Dostoevsky. The main character there is a college student, intelligent and honest, hardworking in study, just too poor. The old woman who couldn't stand the loan shark, planned to kill her a month later, and she was also frightened and sick. After struggling for a long time, suddenly one day, he became enlightened and surrendered to the police station. How could a rational and honest person suddenly kill someone? Experts who studied this work later analyzed that Lao Tuotou described a person with such a dual personality. Looking back at "Bane" again, it seems to be the same. Before the murderer does not kill, people usually give people the impression of being gentle and polite. Pick up the sledgehammer, no matter what is human or inhuman, disregard the begging of the beauties, and don't want to keep the glamorous face, kill you first. Immediately afterwards, the beast became a gentleman again, and he continued to talk and laugh like no one else. This kind of person is the most troublesome for the police and the most troublesome for the audience. The reason for this is that this kind of case is not the kind of passionate murder where "anger starts from the heart and evil turns to courage", but has a very deep psychological root. Some experience since childhood distorted his psychology, and later on. The education he received allowed him to deeply bury this distorted psychology. Only show people on the bright side. However, as Tiemei sang in "The Red Lantern": "Hatred will sprout into the heart". These planted seeds can be out of control once they erupt.

The show is basically a women's show. The focus is on Grace's behavior and psychological activities before and after this incident. She is a psychiatrist, and her ability to distinguish people is naturally very strong. What happened to her husband was something she didn't expect. Her husband became a suspect, and she couldn't get rid of it. The son needs comfort, the gossip and gossip in the society needs her to deal with, and the whole life is messed up by this. At the hardest of times, she "wanted to seek unconditional support from my father". But his father, with his decades of experience in the arena, believes that a son-in-law is not a good thing. At first, she was heartbroken when she learned that her husband was cheating, but she believed that her husband would not kill people. After many struggles, she finally put aside her disgust for her husband's cheating, and wholeheartedly helped Jonathan get rid of the accusation of murder. At the same time, in the face of evidence that appears from time to time, she has to constantly clear her doubts about Jonathan from her heart. Until one day, after she was on the phone with Jonathan's mother, her mind changed. Through the girlfriend's lawyer, she secretly sent a message to the prosecutor, and then the court drama happened later. The whole mental journey described is very natural and true.

The bald female lawyer Heidi is also a very interesting character. She has been in the industry for many years, and she has already seen the current situation of American society and knows what people are interested in. Regarding the prosecutor in this case, she said sarcastically: "I never underestimate the government's ability to screw things up." She knew that their marriage and relationship had broken down due to Jonathan's infidelity. Before entering the court, she still Ask Grace and Jonathan to go hand in hand. To the onlookers reporters and the public to show the two people's intimate image. With this hypocritical face, she seeks the sympathy of the jury and onlookers, so that she can continue the performance of "reversing black and white". She knew the American people needed hypocrisy. The difference from ours here is that our culture is often "heroes do things and act like heroes", but the West is different, they are "can do but can't say", this kind of thinking has been deeply integrated into Western culture. Even subconsciously, people feel that hypocrisy is normal. Although this culture has long been criticized by people of insight, most Westerners still agree with this hypocrisy. Before the final trial, Heidi kept telling the two of them: "Say it again, without any emotion. Not at all." At this time, Grace had already made up her mind, and replied with a prickly tone: "Non-human beings. That. I get it."

The photography of the film is beautiful, and it has exhausted almost all the means of photography now. The quiet river, the city at night, the luxurious residence of the grandfather, the aristocratic school, are all beautifully photographed. Grace passed out on the street because of the stress. The camera looked down from top to bottom and saw that with Grace as the center, people slowly and gradually converged towards her. There are also some small details. We saw people in the back seat of the car also wearing seat belts. There is also a scene with a white plastic bag hanging from a tall branch. In this scene a few days later, the plastic bag is still hanging on it. Don't know what the metaphor is, or just the cleaners being lazy.

The show has six episodes in total. Not long, but wonderful. I remember that in the 1980s, TV dramas were one episode every hour, and at most there were two episodes. Since the 50-episode "Desire" that was in line with international standards, everyone has been competing for the longest film. In fact, the standard of good and bad TV dramas has nothing to do with long or short. How many people still like to watch soap operas that deal with housewives, such as "The Slave" and "Blood Doubt"? My personal feeling is that such short and refined TV shows are more attractive to young people, including old men. Maybe there will be a second season of "Bane"? The last scene of the actual murder of the murderer is not in the way, it can be regarded as an illusion in the suspect's own mind. In the second season, we will catch the murderer, and we will not stop until we catch him!

My rating: 7.0.
