What happened with healthcare?

When I watched Sicko, I was at home catching an article about a British hospital scandal: Since 2005, an NHS hospital has caused 400 to 1200 additional deaths due to poor management. The hospital has an unusually high mortality rate, but was also voted one of the nine best hospitals in the UK for patient safety by a hospital guide in late 2009.

The French healthcare system is under enormous cost pressure.

Canadian hospitals occasionally break the news of long wait times and patients traveling abroad for medical treatment.

Australia's public hospitals have also been criticised for waiting times and crowding of patients.

It can be seen that the so-called universal Healthcare is not without cost. Therefore, in recent years, medical reform has become a hot topic. China is also single-mindedly engaged in medical reform, which is related to people's livelihood!

The United States, not to mention, sees the news of medical reform almost every day. An American friend often complains to me that American medical insurance is too expensive, and the medical insurance company takes everything; however, I have no idea. After watching Sicko, I finally understand something.

Seeing those old ladies being hired by the hospital to be thrown to the door of the ambulance because they have no medical insurance; seeing one of the two severed fingers for treatment because they have no medical insurance; Paying the mortgage and finally being kicked out of the house; seeing 911 volunteers suffering from illnesses because of their rescue work, but not being recognized by the government and unable to receive treatment; seeing an old lady who said she had worked her whole life but couldn’t even look down on her illness; really Speechless•••

Things like this, I think, should not just happen in the United States. In China, there is no such thing. "Seeing a doctor is difficult and expensive." My ears are getting calluses. The purpose of medical reform is to solve this problem. However, at least for now, we still pray that we do not get sick, because once sick, it is not impossible to become a poor household from a well-off household.

Of course, we cannot deny that American medical care is very advanced, but we cannot ignore the problems of the medical system because of this. Otherwise, why is Obama so keen on medical reform? !

Let doctors all over the world concentrate on medical treatment! May the business atmosphere stay away from medical treatment, and I am really tired of talking to patients about money when treating a disease.

can not watch anymore. Who said America is good! ! Even if Michael Moore's personal style is strong, pan-real documentaries, out-of-context editing, eschewing exaggeration to only talk about the necessary parts, and too many subjective tendencies and emotional actions, it seems that these are not tolerated by traditional documentaries. But in such a society with unprecedented proliferation of informatization, people should think more about the information they receive, instead of blindly asking the communicator to take full responsibility. )

Sicko quotes

  • Aleida Guevara: Cuba is a little island in the Caribbean with little to no resources. We can do a lot to improve the people's health. This does not happen in the United States. Why are we able and you are not?

  • [final lines]

Michael Moore: It was hard for me to acknowledge that in the end, we truly are all in the same boat. And that now matter what are differences, we sink or swim together. That's how it seems to be everywhere else. They take care of each other, no matter what their disagreements. You know, when we see a good idea from another country, we grab it. If they build a better car, we drive it. If they make a better wine, we drink it. So if they've come up with a better way to treat the sick, to teach their kids, to take care of their babies, to simply be good to each other, then what's our problem? Why can't we do that? They live in a world of 'we', not 'me'. We'll never fix anything until we get that one basic thing right. And powerful forces hope that we never do. And that we remain the only country in the western world without free, universal health care. You know, if we ever did remove the chokehold of medical bills, college loans, daycare, and everything else that makes us afraid to step out of line, well, watch out. Cause it will be a new day in America. In the meantime, I'm gonna go get the government to do my laundry.
