"Kind Gold" is such a black: people laugh from time to time when they look at it, but more of it is the cold sweat behind it.
"Kind gold" is what Li Jinzi was praised by her inmates when she was in prison. She treated every inmate kindly, took care of the paralyzed old prisoners, donated a kidney, and spent several years poisoning the prisoner Ba "Witch" is the angel in the hearts of prisoners. However, "Kind Gold" is just a mask, a disguise, and it is just the need for her to forbear her revenge plan for thirteen years. In exchange for her kindness to her cellmates, each cellmate helped her with her revenge. Li Jinzi has sublimated hatred into a belief. It is not a religious belief. Although Li Yingai with a halo on the poster looks like a saint, all this is just an illusion. Christianity and even Buddhism advocate forgiveness and understanding. But Jin Zi worships the goddess of vengeance who repays blood for blood. She hopes to use Mr. Bai's blood to wash away her sins and redeem her soul through revenge. In the end, Jinzi found all the parents of the children who were mutilated by Mr. Bai and asked them to complete this ritual of revenge together.
The director made a wonderful passage at this critical time. This passage is the best film passage I have seen last year, it is dark enough, bloody enough, perverted enough, even humorous enough, sad enough, heavy enough, and finally, it has a little warmth. The combination of audio-visual language and content in this paragraph has reached an astonishing level. This paragraph, from the time everyone sat around watching the video, to the time when everyone finished eating the cake and dispersed. Excellent control from start to finish, from tense to relaxed. This section is the core of the whole film, which is already indicated by the beautiful line flowing out of the blood-red liquid at the beginning of the film. Some of my classmates thought it was a chocolate cake when they saw "Blood Cake", but in fact the image of the spoon and blood at the beginning is a hint to "Blood Cake".
At least it can be seen that Park Chan-wook is a skeptic of the system. He is full of distrust of the legal system that maintains this world order. He seems to pursue a way outside the system to solve problems that cannot be solved by the system. In Park Zanyu's eyes, there is no perfect legal system in this world, it must have many places beyond its power, or it can't really achieve the effect of punishment at all. In the end, there are still many stubborn diseases in this world. It is with such suspicion and distrust that Park Chan-wook let Jin-ja accomplish her redemption and revenge in her unique way.
The film uses a different audio-visual method than before. Many times, what the film shows us is one or two fragments of an event, a cross-section, and a cross-section with few characters. For example, when Jin Zi meets with different inmates, there will be flashbacks. In many cases, just a few shots, a dozen or tens of seconds, simply summarize a story that could have been very complicated. Moreover, there is no shortage of beauty in these pieces, even if it is cruel and decadent, like gold red eyeshadow.
The film's photography and art design are exquisite and beautiful, as if there is no human atmosphere. Even if it is interspersed with small crossings, the director has done it quite gorgeously. Therefore, the main soundtrack of the film is the most suitable baroque music, like the harpsichord that does not eat the fireworks, and the mournful violin, which has both the feeling of religious music and the sadness of worldly sinking. The final lullaby also hints at the final peace of mind of the Avengers.
"Kind Gold" is the end of Park Chan-wook's "Vengeance Trilogy". I only watched "Old Boy" in the first two films. "Old Boy" uses all means to pack the action, and uses a lot of dynamic things. In "Gold", "relative static" is used more frequently. In the shot, the characters are more in the state after the action, such as the hug between Jin Zi and the inmate. The director did not shoot the process, but the result of the hug. The use of this technique in "Gold" sets a tone for the film's narrative style.
The biggest change and personality of "Gold" is the difference in narrative time and space. The suspense this time is not as thrilling as "Old Boy". "Old Boy" relies entirely on the purpose to support the action, the action brings out the plot, the plot revolves around the purpose, a kind of interlocking narrative process, there are occasional memories, but Basically linear. The time and space of "Gold" is interlaced, flashback and flash forward, plus fantasy and reality, it has a more complex and jumping way than "Old Boy".
If the revenge of "Old Boy" is for ulterior lust, then Jin Zi's revenge is very "noble", because she did not get blood on her hands for personal reasons. In the film, when everyone tasted the "blood cake" together after revenge, there was even a religious taste of self-salvation. It also ends with snowflakes flying. "Old Boy" does not shed a single tear, but makes the atmosphere very sad, and also faintly reveals "Old Boy"'s desire to cleanse his sins; "Kind Gold" is also full of snow Ending the story in the middle, but turning Jin Zi's confession and yearning for purity into a howl, making the end of the black violence style trilogy a little more tender.
