When you miss me, turn the book to page 28

After thinking about it, I felt that I should write something for "Portrait of a Burning Woman".

I have to say, this is one of the few movies I have seen in recent years that is as strong as a spirit. This is a movie that has life and can breathe but can make the viewer's heart stop and can't breathe. I really I admire the screenwriter and director of this film, the intelligent woman, Celine Sciamma.

The story takes place in France in the eighteenth century. Marianne, a talented young female painter, was commissioned to paint a portrait of the rich lady Heloise before her marriage, but because of the latter's resistance, she had to conceal her identity and "accompany" her. Way to quietly observe Eloise during the day, and then write from memory at night. Marian, played by Nomi Merlant, has baby-pure eyes that, combined with her painterly qualities, will move the glacier with her fixed gaze.

Eloise, played by Adela Harnell, grew up in a monastery. She is lonely, cold and ignorant of the world. Her sister's sudden suicide because of refusing to marry casts a shadow over her original simple life. Throwing her fate", she said, "I'm not sad, I'm just angry", "Anger always wins over happiness".

Eloise always wanted to break free from the shackles. She looked at everything around her, including Marianne, with sensitive and suspicious eyes. But with the contact between the two, secret feelings began to spread. It seems that in this world, only Marianne can give Eloise spiritual comfort. When the grief was not over, Marianne said to her "(Although I don't think you have no choice), but I understand you"; in order to let her know the outside world, Marianne played her a section "It's not very cheerful but very vivid. "The Four Seasons", from her changing expression, it can be seen that Marianne has opened a door to a new world for her... Adela's performance here is very delicate and expressive.

After that, Eloise began an ambiguous temptation, "In the solitude of a person, I realized the freedom you said, but I also realized that you are indispensable to me (you are not, I am lonely)... "

When Marianne finally plucked up the courage to tell her who she was, Eloise said, "No wonder you look at me differently," but so what? I can't help but fall in love with you!

In order to keep Marianne, Eloise surprised her mother by agreeing to be a model for a portrait for the first time; in the five days after her mother left, the process of getting along between the two made this kind of ambiguity and temptation flow freely. People already know each other in fine detail.

"When you stare at the person in the painting, who am I looking at?"

"It's not that everything in the world is fleeting, such as deep love, from the heart."

"You know me better and better than my future husband..."

The bonfire bridge is undoubtedly the essence of the whole film. The two looked at each other, smiled, and restrained their smiles, finally clarifying their feelings for each other, and all the ambiguity and temptation ended. The desire for love is burning in the flickering firelight, the air seems to be frozen, the inescapable love is obsessed, I only see you in my eyes, even if the spark is on my body, I don't even notice it.

And the soul of the whole film, I think, is the Greek myth. It even runs through the second half of the film. After the relationship between the two is clear, it represents a kind of prophecy and suggestion. How many would not understand that Orpheus turned his head at the last moment when he worked so hard? This makes his lover Eurydice escape into the darkness again. It's really counterintuitive. It was clearly stated that there was no turning back. Turning back meant losing, and they would never be able to return to the world.

But that's exactly what the film is about, and it's the genius of director Celine Sciamma. There was no fierce resistance, no grievances and complaints, and no crying at the time of parting, she just conveyed to us tenderly - because it was too beautiful, she chose to miss it!

When life reaches a certain stage, we will definitely know that everything that appears in life cannot be owned, and people can only experience and remember in their life. , loss is just experience, and it will eventually dissipate with the torrent of years. Only memory will last forever, let love freeze at the most beautiful moment to ensure that her will never deteriorate.

So, Marianne and Eloise turned into Orpheus and Eurydice in Greek mythology. On the eve of parting, they couldn't bear to fall asleep, staring at each other affectionately, recalling and promising to remember the happiest moment forever. The picture at this time was a mess, sad but not hurt, and no one could not be moved by it.

Marianne painted her portrait on page 28 of Eloise's book, which is the oath of their love; they once walked through each other's world and were deeply branded in each other's hearts, which is enough; fortunately, There is still a chance to know in this life, and this memory is also preserved by the lover.

"When you miss me, please turn to page 28".

In this sense, loss may not necessarily be heartbroken, and tragedy may also be another form of kindness. I have always believed that a life-long love regardless of everything is the only way to love bravely. All those who didn't get a happy ending in the end were because they didn't love enough. After watching this movie, I finally got a head start: true love is brave, it should be hugging I regret accepting fate, accepting that this world is not perfect, and doing my best to protect the temperature of the embers of beautiful memories throughout my life.

Thank you for this movie, thank you for the intelligent director Celine Sciamma, thank you two talented actors Nomi Merlant and Adela Harnell.
