I really don't understand

After watching it twice, I savored every detail carefully. The only highlight of the film is the dialogue between Rory and the old man in the flower farm, which is really thought-provoking. If the point of the film is to express "We all make our choices, the hard part is living with them", but I can't help but ask, the foreshadowing is too long. And for the last shot, whether the narrator of the whole story is Rory himself, and if so, what is the kiss scene with that woman at the end, I am at a loss. Makes me feel a little bit tired of the last scene every time. The film seems to be intended to leave readers with a suspense: how did Rory get raised later, and what happened between him and his wife. However, I personally feel that this suspense is not very appropriate. As a reader, I am more looking forward to the announcement at the end.

Ingenious story. Three writers three kinds of puzzles.

A story with multiple narrators, very textbook structure. Although there is not much novelty in the play, I can feel the feelings emanating from the stories strung together.

The Words quotes

  • Rory Jansen: I'm not who I thought I was, okay? I'm not. And I'm terrified that I never will be.

  • The Old Man: He found out sometime later that what she'd actually said was: "Pay your check and get the hell out of here". But who is he to question fate?
