The whole film is slow and dull, until the moment when Magee commits suicide.
The male protagonist is an extremely selfish, hypocritical, egoist who lacks basic sympathy (looks like Stallone). In front of me, I don't even have the action and mentality of rescue. The most lines in the whole film are "what do you want", for fear that others will affect any of my interests. At a young age, this is the story of a hypocritical individual, at an older age, it seems to be the epitome of the propertied class.
The disgust for the male protagonist continued to accumulate throughout the film.
Maggie seems to be a kind but pitiful person. After the male protagonist visited him for the first time, he was lonely, embarrassed, and then cried out in grief; when he was taken away by the police, he could see tears in the corners of his eyes through the alternating light and dark street lights; when he committed suicide, he simply and decision. It really hit me hard.
Maggie's son was really well educated, and despite being sad, he didn't say or do anything in the same elevator as the male lead, not even rude, just wanted to know how the male lead felt about his father's death.
I can only say that the director is awesome, and he showed me these vivid human natures in such a straightforward way.
After reading it, it seems like something is blocked in my heart, which is really uncomfortable.
