dreams and confidence

The reason I read this book and this movie is relatively simple: I am in the stage of crazy liking Zhao Wei, and I am willing to watch her movies (as long as they are the subject matter and genre that I can accept). In fact, Zhao Wei didn't have a lot of roles in this movie, so I didn't plan to watch it at first. However, I later saw on Weibo that the film had a director's version, and the blogger said that watching the director's version can feel Stephen Chow's talent. Who doesn't want to feel Stephen Chow's talent?

I didn't watch the director's version the first time because I wanted to experience the film myself first. After watching the entire movie, I didn't find it very surprising. This is a movie about a small man, a story about a low-level character who is unwilling. In the end, he realized his ideal because of his love and persistence. If I were in high school, this storyline would have appealed to me, maybe even inspired me. But, now I might want to think, how likely is this story to be realized in today's society? It's not that I'm no longer an idealist, but that I have to think about the overall social environment, such as class solidification, or to think about how much of this success is due to luck, and then what is luck? How uncontrollable luck is, how do we understand this luck? Of course, all of this is a no-brainer for me for the time being.

On second thought, I wondered why the director likes the stories of little people so much? What is the director trying to express in this story? He shoots little people, but will he really understand the little people's survival dilemma? The ending of his movie was a happy ending, because the story with the director himself ended happily. Can he see those who failed and the stories? How does he understand the reasons for failure?

Maybe it's because there are too many random thoughts in my head, or I can't understand Zhou Xingchi, I didn't understand the emotional line between him and Amei. I thought he liked Amei, but why did he reject Amei? In the end, how did they come together? The director's version didn't answer my questions either.

But the real Stephen Chow in the director's version made my emotion for this movie go up a space.

The first is that after the star team, the star took Amei to the mall, he told Amei that you are beautiful, you have to be confident. He said you have to look up, you are great! When I watched it for the first time, it felt as if he said it all. But Zhou Xingchi explained that what qualifications does Xing have to encourage people? He also does cleaning in the mall. Although I think anyone is entitled to encouragement, regardless of status. But it's also really moving, no matter where I am, I have an optimistic and kind heart. Although we are humble now, our dreams will not be shattered. The two people who possess unique skills but are in low positions sympathize with each other, and because of this, two hearts that should have been desperate, have hope. People at the bottom of society should have such hope, no matter how bad the system is, they should have hope. Reflections and concerns should be left to those with vested interests, and others will bravely move forward. Dreams may not always come true, but we work together (generational efforts, impersonal) to change this cannibalistic policy, perhaps in One day in the future, we can achieve socialism.

In the second episode, Xing took his friends to the shop where Ah Mei worked for a meal to celebrate. I've watched this scene many, many times, and the more I watch it, the more I like it. Maybe Amei didn't seem to care about the evaluation of her appearance at the beginning, as if she could accept all jokes, but in fact, she always cared in her heart. Although I'm not confident, I know I'm not good-looking, but didn't you tell me I'm beautiful? I still really care about people calling me ugly. Therefore, when joking, Amei's emotions that go up and down are moving. This setting further highlights the contradiction of Amei. In the end, Amei got angry and ran back to the shop. At this time, the proprietress also came back. She laughed at Amei and said she was not ashamed. Looking at the prejudice of this society, don't ugly people have the right to pursue beauty? Don't have the qualifications to dress yourself up? My aesthetics are not good, so I give you the right to laugh at me? Finally, Amei fought back. At that moment, she had the confidence that should belong to everyone. She said: "I think I am beautiful now, and I like the way I am now, if you don't like it, you can go away . " I think this is the highlight of this role. She understands that beauty is not someone else's evaluation, but my confidence in myself. As long as I think I am beautiful, I am beautiful.

However, there is still something I can't understand. Before Xing went to participate in the competition, he went to see Amei, and he found that Amei did not continue to make sweet and heart buns, because the buns she made were all the taste of tears and bitterness. It's that sweet. Xing was eating steamed buns, and he knew Amei's feelings, "When she liked me, I also saw her tears here." This feeling has sublimated, I don't understand, where is the sublimation? Has Xing re-understood this feeling? I have a guess that he knows that Amei likes him, really likes him, not because of his encouragement to Amei that Amei mistakenly thought it was love.
