UK Teen Life VS Chinese Teen Life

Reason: Because I saw the clip of the ending wild world on station B, I was very moved and novel, so I decided to look for it. A drama that is extremely niche, I have been looking for resources for a long time, and I even spent money to buy a one-month Xunlei membership. Finally saw the first season.

The plot revolves around Tony, Michael, Sid, Cassie, Chris, Jal, Anwar, Maxie, a group of good friends. It tells the stories of their families, love and friendship with each other.

This period of youth can be called vigorous. Tony, as the smartest child in the whole play, discovered early that some nature of the relationship is control and manipulation. So in a limited space, to break the routine, play with girlfriends, friends in the palm of your hand, and have fun. Sid wanted the unattainable relationship michale, and when he met Cassie who liked him, he didn't care about the other party. Chris's approach of chasing love bravely regardless of the differences between teachers and students. Maxie insists on her sexuality. Anwar wanders between religion and reality, thinking that he is loyal to the teachings, but in fact has already violated the traditional religion and made friends with homosexuals. Cassie, a girl with low self-esteem, who wants to be loved by someone, seems weird because she's too impatient. Jal's three views are firm, a person who can truly and reasonably pin his youth hormones on his own feelings on the clarinet. But it seems rigid and boring.

How should youth live? No one knows, because it looks beautiful, and the smart tony didn't have the last laugh. His girlfriend left, his sister was kidnapped, and he suffered a car accident. But because of the experiment, everyone finally came to their senses. it's a wild world. it can't get by just upon a smile. I'm relieved to see this. Youth should be uninhibited, so as to complete the transformation from child to adult, and better spend the long life in the future.

In comparison, there are many taboos as a Chinese teenager.

Youth can be described as a false poetic. The boiling hormones in the body are released from nowhere, turning into pimples on the shiny face.

Skins quotes

  • Emily: [laying in bed together] I wish I had a mom like that. Katie and me, we were always together. Everything together. Eating, sleeping... Until we were nine we used to take a dump at the same time.

    Naomi: [laughing] Jesus!

Emily: Yeah. No secrets. There was no point.

Naomi: [beat, then serious] What about this one?

Emily: [beat] Naomi... I wanna tell people.

    Naomi: That you're gay?

Emily: I wanna tell people about us. Come to the college ball with me.

Naomi: Why would I want to do that?

    Emily: Why not?

    Naomi: Em, it's nobody's business.

Emily: Why? Who cares what other people think?

Naomi: Emily, I'm not like you! I'm not sure, like you are.

Emily: What aren't you sure of?

Naomi: Can't thinks ever be complicated?

Emily: Fine, you like boys, too.

Naomi: Maybe. Maybe I like only boys, apart from you.

Emily: Well, that's fucking great! You're so in touch with yourself, aren't you?

    [beat]

Emily: Come to the ball with me, like we're together.

Naomi: [beat, then Emily gets up] Don't do that.

Emily: No, you don't do that!

    [gets dressed]

Emily: I'm not your fucking experiment! Where are my fucking shoes?

    [looking around]

Emily: Oh, fuck it! Keep them! I'm tired... So sick and tired of it.

    [looking intensely at Naomi, beat]

Emily: We're still holding hands through a catflap, aren't we?

    [beat]

    Emily: Have fun in Cyprus.

  • Emily: [quoting] "I see it now in lights - Naomi get to know me."

Naomi: I thought it was catchy.
