Ten years of watching movies, say goodbye to Hayao Miyazaki

During the boring summer vacation in junior high school and high school, I occupied my home alone. In the summer time, I played the last rhyme of the spirit of middle school and thought hard about the ultimate problem of life. I finally thought that my whole body was getting moldy, so I rode my bicycle and searched for spiritual food in bookstores and video stores in the small town.

"Little brother, it's a good movie, Japanese. Let's make it all together."

The owner of the unscrupulous video store abruptly put a film in my "Evil in the East" and "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". Looking at the grinning look of the boss, I suddenly caught some kind of signal. I threw the twenty-dollar bill to the boss enthusiastically, kicked home without looking back, and played the legendary movie.

"Cartoon." "The heroine is a bit ugly." "My parents have turned into pigs... pigs..." "Why is there something strange in the shower." "Where's my good movie? Damn it."

Movies are about growing up. A modern little girl strays into the dwelling of the gods, and in order to save her parents who have turned into pigs, she works in a bathhouse that serves the gods. After a fantastic experience. The little girl has become a strong and calm girl from a young girl who complains about herself. Her kindness in her heart also helped those around her. It's such a story, it's so weird that it wants me to smoke myself. On summer afternoons, I am too lazy to turn on the air conditioner. Listening to the ending of the aria and the sweaty recollection of the plot, I remembered the watermelon in the refrigerator.

Cut, this can be considered growth, and there is no blood like Sakuragi. But I was still drawn to the animation, an animation I had never seen before. The animation does not skimp on light and shadow. Gorgeous colors, Rococo-style furniture, Japanese-style houses that strive for perfection, even mottled moss stone steps, and even a lonely oil lamp in front of the window are all carefully handled with a kind of devotion to the gods. Each frame is like a plump Ukiyo-e. In the extremely delicate picture, Joe Hisaishi's symphony sounded, and I walked into a different world with the music. In this different world, strange imaginations are the norm. Just like having my own room for the first time, there is no parental care. The little head got out of the bed and looked at the dark wall, shaking the light and shadow outside the window, like all kinds of monsters. When I first entered another world, I was terrified. Walking slowly through the time tunnel, when everything at night became familiar, I began to be fearless. The first dream is also forgotten.

An inexplicable growth appeared in an inexplicable life, like fate, and I had to accept it. I feel very moved in my chest. At dinner, I couldn't help but say to Dad, "Dad, don't eat too much, it will become... (pig)." Watching Dad staring at me, I swallowed the last word. It seems that the world of God cannot be shared with parents.

Years later, when I'm working in the office, I'll think of the little girl with thin arms and legs. I consoled myself that work was the price of living in a hidden world.

That girl is called Chihiro.

After encountering Spirited Away, I began to trace more of Miyazaki's animated films. Miyazaki's films are always peaceful centrists. "Nausicaa" has human contradictions, but it is not depressing; "City in the Sky" has steampunk, but it is not cold; "Princess Mononoke" has natural metaphors, but it is not desperate. Compared with extreme animation geeks such as Oshii Mamoru and Otomo Keyo, Miyazaki's films are like the warm wind in North Africa. The chinchillas who came by the wind always grinned and wiped away the last trace of sadness with their big chubby hands. It's easy to find similar tastes in all of Gong's films: a growing girl, a boy full of protection, a mix of technology and magic, the peace between man and nature, and the constant hope. Every time you watch a movie, it is a sweet and gluttonous meal that you are looking forward to. Use a movie to defuse the poison of embarrassed life.

The centrist can easily become the mean. Although the space for artistic exploration has been lost due to the moderate route, Miyazaki still adheres to pacifism and naturalism. This is the director's voluntary sacrifice. "Princess Mononoke", as Hayao Miyazaki's planned final work, the original version was 5 hours long. Hesitating and hesitating between Princess Mononoke. The original ending of the film was that the forest god was shot and the human and natural forest were destroyed at the same time. This destructive fate is Miyazaki's desperate view of the future of mankind in the depths of his heart. But in the version that actually came out, the ending changed to the god of the forest leaving green seeds, and humans coexisted with the forest. Similarly, the animated version of "Nausicaa" has also erased the tragic atmosphere that permeated the original comics. In Miyazaki's eyes, the director has the responsibility to create hope. An exquisite heart, who knows the words.

The heart is pessimistic, but the hands have to create hope. This contradiction makes people lonely. The director's loneliness can only be pinned on his own movies. In the semi-autobiographical animation of Porcupine, Miyazaki symbolizes himself as a pilot who hates war. The pilot cursed himself as a pig, locked himself out of human society, and chased freedom in the blue sky of the Adriatic. This pig in the red plane only allows himself to be immersed in the flight, fighting with a group of noisy, innocent and cute flying pirates all day long. Porcupine is devoted to flying, Miyazaki is devoted to film. With a hand that was so tired that he was almost disabled, he took the trouble to depict complicated English-style tea sets, Italian-style slender telephones, and Japanese-style secluded small gardens. The wild forest, and the free and uninhibited wind. In the world of images, Hayao Miyazaki is like a treacherous magician, exaggeratingly endows all things with equal life, even the idle coal balls, the green leaves shaking their heads, and the fleeting waves. Fetish to madness is the only comfort for the soul.

After watching the old man's work in the movie theater, it is the end of my ten years of watching movies. Use the words in the movie to ask yourself, do you go all out and use dreamy murmurs to talk about the inexplicable life? In the past ten years, it seems to be sailing in the wind, with several twists and turns, knowing the joys and sorrows.

When the wind blows, only work hard to live.
